PORO, Cebu – As the election season approaches, the local government of Poro, Cebu, has ramped up its efforts to ensure public safety by upgrading and expanding its CCTV surveillance system across key areas in town. The initiative aims to deter crime, monitor public spaces, and provide additional security for residents, especially during the highly anticipated campaign period.
Mayor Gary Rama emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, “Ang kaluwasan sa matag Porohano maoy among pangunang prioridad. Ang pagpabakus sa atong CCTV network usa ka dakong lakang aron mapadayon ang kalinaw ug kasiguruhan, ilabi na kay nagkadool na ang eleksyon.”
The installation of new high-definition CCTV cameras has been prioritized in strategic locations, including barangay halls and major roads. Authorities emphasize that these measures are not just for election security but also for crime prevention and rapid response to emergencies.
The Poro Police and Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) will monitor the CCTV feeds 24/7, allowing law enforcement to act swiftly against any suspicious activities. Residents are also encouraged to report any concerns, as community cooperation remains vital in maintaining peace and order.
With heightened security measures in place, Poro continues to strengthen its commitment to a safe, orderly, and fair election season for all.
