—To fellow artists, always remember: you’re worthy of expensive, high quality art materials… yes, even on the days when you doubt yourself. 🎨🤍

I’m currently sketching this piece all over again because I wasn’t feeling confident in myself or in my vision. So instead of using my good paper, I chose a cheaper one, just in case it turned out ugly. I figured it wouldn’t hurt as much, and it wouldn’t feel like such a waste if I messed it up.

Well, the joke’s on me. 😫

As soon as I started painting, the paper began falling apart. A few brushstrokes in and it was already overworked. Now I have to start from scratch, even though the sketch alone took me days to finish.

Lesson learned.

Sometimes we treat our dreams, ideas, and artwork the same way we treat ourselves. We hold back, lower our standards, or give ourselves the “cheaper option” because we’re afraid we might fail.

But what if it turns out beautifully?

Believe in yourself a little more. Trust the vision you see. You’re worthy of using the good paper, the good paints, and the good brushes. Not because you’re guaranteed to succeed, but because your art is worth giving its best chance to. 🫶🏻

Hello Old Friend, 06.02.26
—This is a quick painting I made as a little break from the bigger pieces. I wanted it to be simple but still meaningful. And I think it became exactly that.

It was inspired by a photo I came across with a similar angle and perspective which I then made my own. While painting it, I found myself thinking about old friends. The people who were once such a big part of your life but now exist only in memories, occasional updates, and passing thoughts.

Maybe it’s a childhood friend life pulled away by distance. Maybe it’s a friendship that quietly faded. Maybe it’s someone you once loved but eventually grew apart from. Whatever the story, I think most of us have experienced the bittersweet reality of people coming and going.

Not every relationship ends in bitterness. Sometimes it ends with love. With gratitude. With a quiet hope that life is treating them kindly wherever they are now.

And every now and then, life gives you a small glimpse of them again. You see how far they’ve come, and how far you’ve come too. And in those moments, you begin to understand why things happened the way they did. Why some people are meant to stay forever, while others are only meant to walk beside us for a season, as a reason, a lesson, or simply a beautiful chapter.

So, what do we think of this piece? 🤔💭

—Life lately. 📸
This past week has been a little busy, but in the best way possible. Full of good news, big blessings, and a rollercoaster of emotions. That’s also why I’ve been less active on here lately. With that, here’s a random dump of little moments and crumbs of my life as an artist. 🤭

Anyway, I’m off for a walk after posting this. Bye! 🤪🫶🏻

PS: Can we please bring back old (textless) Instagram? Just fun photos, no text, no explanations, no pressure. Just vibes. 🤟🏻🫩

And if you don’t, then what are you doing with your life? Go get a hobby right now. 🫵🏻😤

Seriously though, everyone deserves something that makes them lose track of time and fall in love with being alive a little more. 🤪🙌🏻

—You just have to make it exist first. You can always improve it later. The hardest part is almost always the beginning. The showing up, the starting, the trying despite not knowing how it’ll turn out.

But what matters most is that you begin. 🫡

PS: Not just talking about paintings here hihihi 🤪🫶🏻
