Today marks the first day of workshops for MADZ et Al. 2026, bringing passionate voices together for a meaningful journey of learning, collaboration, and choral excellence in the Visayas.

In partnership with Fo Guang Shan Philippines and Siddhartha Theater Ensemble, the Everlight Vocal Ensemble spearheads this celebration to create a space where music nurtures talent, strengthens community, and inspires care for our world.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐏𝐄𝐈 𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐄

From Cebu to Taiwan, 57 artists carried one shared dream to the Taipei Dome, performing before nearly 50,000 people in celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Fo Guang Shan.

Behind this milestone were countless sacrifices, unwavering faith, and the generosity of Venerable Yung Guang and the Fo Guang Shan Foundation, who made it possible for Cebuano artists to stand on a stage this grand.

More than a performance, "Star and Cloud: The Musical" became a reminder that when someone believes in your dreams, those dreams can reach places you never imagined.

As we return home, we continue to carry the legacy of Venerable Master Hsing Yun: a legacy of hope, education, compassion, and a home for artists to grow and be heard.

We came to Taiwan carrying a dream. We return to Cebu carrying a legacy.

As we prepare for "Star and Cloud: The Musical" in Taipei, our rehearsals become more than just preparation for the stage. We are grateful to be joined by Venerable Yung Guang, Venerable Miao Jing, and Venerable Chueh Lin, whose presence and guidance continue to inspire the cast and production team.

We were also honored to welcome members of BLIA who joined us as our audience, witnessing the story, music, and spirit of Star and Cloud come to life.

🎭 𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐔𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆

On September 16, the Three Acts of Goodness Musicals took their first steps into the stage through the Unang Dalit 2026 First Staged Reading—a celebration of new Bisaya musical theater works created through months of writing, composing, and collaboration.

Under the mentorship of Jude Gitamondoc, the evening featured creations written by the Creators Training Program Batch 2, brought to life by the Musical Theater Training Program Batch 4, with technical support from the Technical Theater Training Program Batch 1.

At the end of the night, all six (6) musicals met their directors for the Siddhartha Theater Festival 2026:

Months of writing. Months of composing. Countless ideas turned into melodies, scenes, characters, and stories.

“𝘜𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵 2026” features original 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 musicals created by the 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟮, brought to life through a staged reading by the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟰, with technical and stage assistance from the 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝟭.

But tonight isn't just about hearing these stories for the first time. It also marks the moment these new works meet our invited directors who will take them further toward their culminating staging at the 𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 this December.

𝟏𝟓𝟎 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧 "𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐦" 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬

The “Introduction to Humanistic Buddhism: Etiquette and Core Principles” class, held on September 5, 2026, and led by teachers John Mark Aligarbes and Jear Hilario, aimed to deepen the participants’ understanding of Humanistic Buddhism and its relevance in everyday life.

The session sought to cultivate greater understanding, sensitivity, respect, and empathy toward others, recognizing and appreciating differences in perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences.

Through the teachings of Humanistic Buddhism, the 150 scholars and artists from five different programs of Fo Guang Shan Cebu were encouraged to develop mindful attitudes and actions that promote harmony, mutual respect, compassion, and peaceful coexistence within the community and society.
