Sana kayo naman ang makaranas ng baha, mga hayop! Ang titibay ng mga bahay niyo, sandamakmak pa! Kapag may gumuho, may ipapalit agad. Samantalang yung mga tao rito, 30 years nilang pinagtrabahuhan tapos isang iglap lang, wala na lahat!

Nakita ko lang sa FB, Tina try niyang buhayin yung babae sa ibabaw ng bubong habang bumabaha.

Sobrang sakit sa dibdib makita na walang magawa ang mga kababayan natin kundi maghintay sa tulong na hindi dumarating.

𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳 was appointed by 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐃𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞 as an ad interim Secretary of the DENR in July 2016. Both Gina Lopez and President Duterte cared about the environment, they both hated how mining was destroying mountains, rivers, and communities.

She ordered audits of mining operations, suspended or shut down many mines (𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞: 𝟐𝟐 𝐨𝐟 𝟒𝟏 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬) and 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬. She also banned new open-pit mining.

Because of her strong anti-mining stance and aggressive environmental actions kaya siya tinanggal ng 𝐂𝐀 (𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬).

Duterte was the one who appointed her, yes.

But the problem is, he was limited by the law and couldn’t interfere with the decision of the Commission on Appointments (CA).

Ang dapat sisihin ninyo yung mga mining companies with very strong ties to politicians.

Sisihin niyo yung mga miyembro ng Commission on Appointments na binubuo ng Senado at House of Representatives who voted "No" na ma appoint siya just because she has integrity and she values people over profit.

The decision to reject came from them last May 2017, when the Commission on Appointments voted to reject her confirmation. ng dahil dun her appointment automatically lapsed and she was legally required to step down.

Wag niyo isisi kay Duterte. The CA voted and rejected her appointment as DENR Secretary. The vote was around 16 against her confirmation, 8 in favour.

Naka secret ballot pa yung voting! Tang-ina talaga.

Sisihin niyo yung mga kagaya ni Ronaldo B. Zamora, Representative of San Juan, and at that time the House contingent head for the CA. Yung kapatid niya si Manuel B. Zamora Jr. founder of Nickel Asia Corporation, one of the Philippines’ largest nickel-mining firms.

Again, it wasn’t Duterte who removed her, but the Commission on Appointments (an independent legislative body).
