REINA Y MADRE DE CAVITE! 🌹
Today, as the Catholic world joyfully celebrates the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we turn our hearts and prayers to our very own, the Virgen de la Soledad de Porta Vaga. Revered deeply as the beloved Madre del Ciudad (Mother of the City) and the Celestial Guardian and Protectress of the entire Province of Cavite, she remains the ultimate refuge of faith, comfort, and hope for every true Caviteño.
For over three centuries, the Virgin of a Thousand Miracles has watched over our shores. From her miraculous apparition to a Spanish sentinel at the old Porta Vaga gate, to being the "Patroness of the Galleons", her presence is woven tightly into the historical and spiritual DNA of Cavite.
Garbed in her solemn black and white manto, kneeling in profound meditation on the Passion of her Son, "Nay Choleng" teaches us the true meaning of enduring faith amid life's deepest solitudes. She is our living Mother who continuously embraces us with her maternal protection.
On this beautiful feast of Mary’s birthday, let us lay down our sorrows, hopes, and silent petitions before her altar at the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Solitude of Porta Vaga.
A Prayer to Our Mother on Her Birthday:
Dearest Mother,
we love Thee.
Envelope us always
within the Maternal wings
of thy Motherly Tutelage
and protection. Amen.
