ANIMAL CRUELTY IS NOT CONTENT. DO NOT LIKE, COMMENT, OR SHARE.

A video posted on the page JOMOND JTV appears to show a content creator striking a puppy on the head. After being hit, the puppy can be heard repeatedly whining and crying while the incident is used as online content.

When a video of an animal being hurt appears online, our first reaction may be to watch, comment, or reshare it out of anger. But every view and interaction can push the content to more people, increase the uploader’s reach, and even help them make money from an animal’s pain.

If you did not personally witness the abuse, please do not help circulate it:
1. Don’t watch. Views increase the video’s reach.
2. Don’t engage. Likes and comments, even angry ones, boost its visibility.
3. Don’t share. Reposting to expose or condemn the cruelty may still give the uploader more attention, views, and possible revenue.

Instead, report the post and the page directly to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or the platform where it was uploaded so the content can be reviewed and taken down.

Most importantly, encourage anyone with FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE of the incident to FILE A FORMAL REPORT. Seeing the video online is not the same as personally witnessing the act.

❗A viral video does not automatically become a legal case. Cases can only move forward when witnesses with personal knowledge step forward and remain committed to the legal process.

If you witnessed animal cruelty firsthand, photos and videos are important evidence, but posting them online is not enough. Report the incident to the barangay, police, or proper local authorities. Execute an affidavit, cooperate with the investigation, and be prepared to testify.

What's the Update on the Report About 20 Feral Cats Allegedly Used for Experiments Every Semester?

We are reposting this solely to ask whether there have been been any official updates, clarifications, or responses regarding this reported an alleged practice involving the Biology Department of a university in Cebu City.

Twenty lives. Every semester.

If accurate, this information raises difficult questions that deserve clear answers.

How many other universities are still using feral cats or dogs in this manner? Are similar practices happening in veterinary, biology, or other animal-related courses across the Philippines?

If so, are there ethical review processes, humane standards, or modern alternatives that could replace the use of live animals?

Education should advance science without losing compassion. Future veterinarians, biologists, and researchers are expected to protect animal welfare while pursuing knowledge. If live animals are still being used, the public deserves transparency about why, how, and whether more humane methods are available.

This is not an accusation or attack against every university or every veterinary program. It is a call for accountability, transparency, and an honest national conversation about the treatment of animals in educational institutions.
