Culture, music, and community spirit came together as the Oro Dayaw Cultural Dance Ensemble and Talindaw Chorale proudly performed during the Grand Opening of El Pueblo A Sus Heroes Park in Divisoria, Cagayan de Oro City, on June 2, 2026.

Led by Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, the opening of the newly revitalized park marks another significant milestone in the city's continuing efforts to create inclusive, vibrant, and people-centered public spaces. More than a place for recreation and relaxation, El Pueblo A Sus Heroes Park serves as a symbol of community pride, unity, and progress for all Kagay-anons.

Adding color and meaning to this historic occasion, the Oro Dayaw Cultural Dance Ensemble and Talindaw Chorale delivered inspiring performances that celebrated Filipino culture, heritage, and artistry. Their participation highlighted the vital role of the performing arts in bringing communities together and enriching public celebrations that honor the city's growth and development.

As the official cultural performing groups under the City College of Cagayan de Oro's Office of Artistic Performing and Cultural Innovation (APCI), Oro Dayaw and Talindaw embody CCCDO's commitment to cultural preservation, artistic excellence, and community engagement. Under the leadership of Dr. Jestoni P. Babia, President of the City College of Cagayan de Oro, the institution continues to empower student artists and performers to serve as cultural ambassadors who inspire pride, creativity, and civic involvement through the arts.

Talindaw Chorale turns breath into meaning, creating moments where melody says what words alone cannot. In every performance, they show that music is not simply heard—it is felt, carried, and remembered.

This student organization brings excellence not as a single achievement, but as a consistent way of working, creating, and showing up. In every performance and engagement, it reflects a standard shaped by discipline and a strong sense of purpose.

When they perform, it is never just a presentation. Stories that don’t always appear in textbooks are given form through gesture, timing, and sound. Every sequence becomes a quiet insistence that culture is not something observed from a distance, but something continuously lived and re-created.

Beyond the spotlight, the group is built in rehearsals where discipline meets experimentation. Steps are repeated until they are precise, then reshaped until they feel honest. What emerges on stage is not perfection, but presence earned through patience and collective effort.

Last May 19, 2026, at Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City, the Oro Dayaw Ensemble proudly showcased the richness of Filipino culture and artistry during the LAB for ALL (Laboratoryo, Konsulta, at Gamot para sa Lahat) National Health Caravan — a meaningful initiative that brings vital healthcare and laboratory services closer to communities across Mindanao.

The event brought together national and local leaders, representatives from various government agencies, educators, healthcare advocates, and community partners in support of accessible public service and meaningful community engagement. Among those present were Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez, UniFAST OIC-Executive Director Septon De La Cruz, and CHED Northern Mindanao Regional Director Arlita Amapola Minguez, together with CDO City and Provincial officials.

Adding color and cultural pride to the occasion, the Oro Dayaw Ensemble delivered vibrant musical and cultural performances that celebrated the spirit, heritage, and unity of the Filipino people — highlighting the important role of arts and culture in nation-building and community connection.

The City College of Cagayan de Oro Employees Performing Arts Guild proudly delivered inspiring performances during the KSB sa Baikingon Elementary School activity held on May 16, 2026. Through music, dance, and artistic expression, CCCDO employees shared not only their remarkable talents, but also their passion for culture, service, and meaningful community engagement.

The City College of Cagayan de Oro – CAPCI Oro Dayaw Dance Ensemble once again shared the vibrant spirit of Filipino culture during the KSB “Kuyog Ta sa Serbisyo sa Baryo” held last May 9, 2026, at Barangay FS Catanico.

Through the colorful and lively 𝘽𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙤 𝙁𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖 presentation, the ensemble showcased a variety of traditional Filipino dances including 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙖𝙝𝙞, 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙜 — highlighting the beauty, energy, and rich traditions of Filipino heritage. ✨

Students, parents, barangay residents, and city officials warmly welcomed the performances, making the event more meaningful and memorable for the entire community.

Adding excitement and school pride to the celebration, Oro Dayaw also performed the Finale Dance Presentation of the CCCDO Official Jingle.
