In today's Gospel (Matthew 16:21–27), Jesus reminds His disciples that following Him means being willing to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and walk with Him. His words challenge us to look beyond what the world tells us is important and instead choose a life rooted in faith, sacrifice, and trust in God. Jesus also reminds us that gaining everything the world has to offer means little if we lose sight of what truly matters. Following Him may not always be easy, but every step taken with faith brings us closer to Him.

One lesson we can carry with us this week is that following Christ means being willing to stay even when the journey becomes difficult. Jesus calls us to deny ourselves, to be ready to sacrifice our own wants and comfort for the Lord, carry our cross, choosing to remain faithful despite pain and struggles, and follow Him, even when the path is uncertain. The homily reminded us that true love and faith are not about avoiding difficulties, but about choosing to stay and hold on through them. Like a journey with many bumps along the road, we do not simply leave when things become hard. We fasten our seatbelt, hold on, and continue. In the same way, when serving God becomes difficult, we should not run away from Him. Instead, we stay, trust, and allow our struggles to strengthen our faith, knowing that every sacrifice we make for Him can bring us closer to Him.

As we head into another week, may we have the courage to carry our crosses with faith, choose God's will over our own, and continue following Christ even when the path gets difficult. May we always remember that a life lived with Him is worth more than anything the world can offer.

In today's Gospel (Matthew 16:13–20), Jesus asks His disciples, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answers that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This reminds us that our faith isn't just about knowing who Jesus is, but also about knowing Him personally and letting that relationship reflect in the way we live.

One lesson we can carry with us this week is that our faith should not end when we leave the church. We are part of Christ’s Church, and our homes should also become places where faith, love, forgiveness, and prayer are lived out. It reminds us that even though people in the Church may have flaws and make mistakes, Christ remains faithful. We can strengthen our faith by knowing Jesus more deeply and by allowing our actions, especially toward our family, to reflect His love.

As we head into another week, let's keep what we learned today close to our hearts and continue choosing faith in the little things we do. May we keep growing closer to God and letting Him guide us through whatever comes our way.

In today's Gospel (Matthew 15:21–28), we hear about the Canaanite woman who continued to call out to Jesus and remained steadfast in her faith despite the challenges she faced. Her persistence and trust eventually led Jesus to praise her, saying, "O woman, great is your faith!" Her story reminds us that genuine faith means continuing to trust and seek God, even when the answers we hope for do not come immediately.

A reminder from today's homily was that we should never give up when our prayers seem unanswered, when God gives us only a little, or when the heavens feel silent. Instead, these moments should make our faith stronger and teach us to be grateful for whatever He gives us. Like the Canaanite woman, we can say, “Lord, even if all You give me is a crumb, I will still be grateful, because I know You are there.” Sometimes, the little we receive is already enough when we receive it with faith, because what matters most is not how much God gives us, but knowing that He is always with us.

As we head into another week, may we carry with us the same faith and perseverance shown by the Canaanite woman. May we continue to trust in God's timing, bring our prayers to Him, and never lose hope even when the journey feels difficult.

FEAST OF ST. CLARE OF ASSISI (08- 11 - 26)
𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘, 𝐒𝐓. 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐅 𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐈! 🩷✨

Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Clare of Assisi, a woman of deep faith, humility, and courage. Born into a wealthy family in Assisi, Italy, she chose to leave behind a life of comfort to dedicate herself completely to God. Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, she founded the Order of Poor Ladies, now known as the Poor Clares, and devoted her life to prayer, simplicity, and serving others.

St. Clare remained faithful even in times of difficulty, showing us that a life centered on God does not need riches or worldly success. Her life continues to inspire us to choose faith over fear, simplicity over excess, and love over selfishness.

In today's Gospel (Matthew 14:13–21), Jesus feeds the five thousand with just five loaves and two fish. Through this miracle, He reminds us that even what seems small in our hands can become abundant when placed in His. The Gospel encourages us to trust in God's providence, knowing that He never fails to provide for those who place their faith in Him.

Today's message invited us to reflect on how, when we experience grief, disappointment, or pain, our first instinct is often to withdraw and carry our burdens alone. Yet even Jesus, in His own sorrow, chose not to close His heart to others. He showed us that our wounds do not make us incapable of loving or being used by God. Like the five loaves and two fish, our small offerings, whether they are our time, strength, faith, or even our brokenness, become enough when entrusted to Christ. It reminds all of us that God's greatest miracles begin not with abundance, but with a heart that fully surrenders to Him.

As we begin another week, may we continue to place our trust in the Lord, offering Him all that we have and all that we are. May we become instruments of His generosity, sharing His love with others and believing that He can do extraordinary things through willing hearts.

Gospel (Matthew 13:44–52), Jesus compares the Kingdom of Heaven to a hidden treasure, a pearl of great price, and a fishing net. Through these parables, He reminds us that life with God is worth more than anything this world can offer. When we recognize the true value of His Kingdom, we are called to seek Him wholeheartedly and choose Him above everything else.

Today's homily challenged us to ask ourselves what we consider our greatest treasure and whether Christ truly comes first in our lives. While material possessions and the love of our family and friends are blessings from God, they will never compare to the greatest treasure we can have, which is Jesus Himself. The homily invited us to reflect on whether our choices, priorities, and way of living truly place Him at the centre of our hearts. If Christ is our greatest treasure, then we are called to let go of whatever draws us away from Him and become witnesses of His love in our daily lives. In the end, the greatest riches are not what we own, but the faith, love, and relationship with God that no one can ever take away.

May we continue to seek the treasure that lasts forever and allow Christ to be at the centre of everything we do. As we begin another week, may our hearts remain fixed on Him, choosing His love and His will above all else.
