Ms. Ivy Y. Naptong, a faculty member of Caraga State University (CarSU) Cabadbaran Campus and a Doctoral student of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), received the Best Paper Award at the 14th International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research (iCMR 2026) and the 2nd International Tourism and Hospitality Management Conference (iTHM 2026) held on July 16โ17, 2026 at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), Bangkok, Thailand. The conference gathered researchers and scholars from universities across Asia to present studies on multidisciplinary research and sustainable development.
Naptong earned the international recognition for her research titled "Artistic Identity and Career Pathways of Award-Winning Visual Arts Alumni: A Qualitative Study in a Philippine State University," which was recognized for its outstanding quality, originality, academic excellence, and significant contribution to multidisciplinary research.
Representing Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus, she presented her paper during the Global Perspectives parallel session under the theme "Society, Culture, Communication, and Human Development." Her study was featured alongside research from universities in Vietnam, China, and Thailand.
Aside from receiving the Best Paper Award, Naptong participated in academic discussions and established connections with fellow researchers and scholars from various institutions across Asia, fostering opportunities for future research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Her achievement reflects Caraga State University's commitment to research excellence and internationalization while demonstrating the capability of its faculty to contribute meaningful scholarship on the global stage. It also highlights the value of advanced graduate studies as she continues her academic pursuits at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines.
