𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐨 T𝐮' 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧
On March 3-4, 2025, the faculty and staff researchers of Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology gathered at CN Inland Resort, Rosario, Agusan del Sur for a productive Research Proposal Writeshop dedicated to the Museo Tu' Agusan project.
The event kicked off with an inspiring opening by the project leader Dr. Vivian C. Peligro, setting the tone for a meaningful journey of Museo Tu' Agusan. She vaguely introduced the 5 key components of the project: Cultural, Green Edu-Tourism, Education, Biodiversity & Ecological, and Food .
The first day proceeded with the writeshop proper, where ideas began taking shape. The momentum carried on to the second day, where the team continued refining their proposals. The event was further honored by the presence of Vice President for Research Innovation Development and Extension, Dr. Ferdinand C. Dumalagan, who provided insights and motivation to the participants. The writeshop concluded with a collective critique of outputs, fostering collaboration, feedback, and a stronger foundation for the project’s success.

𝗜𝗻-𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗘𝗢 𝗧𝘂' 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

On July 1, 2024, the two-day In-House Presentation of MUSEO Tu' Agusan Research Validation under Culture and Governance commenced at the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) ICT Conference Hall.

Dedicated MUSEO researchers showcased their insightful studies, receiving invaluable feedback from a distinguished panel, including respected tribal chieftains. Their comments and suggestions will help shape the future of our research initiatives.

Today, July 2, the event features discussions on ‘Conflict Management’ and ‘Customary Laws’ by guest speaker Philip Anthony Ocquiola, NCIP Provincial Officer, and ‘Gender-based Conflict Management in IP Continuity’ by guest speaker Elvira Catuburan, Bae Mahubay.

MUSEO Tu' Agusan is an integral part of the College's Indigenous Peoples (IP) and internationalization program and one of ASSCAT’s key initiatives. This collaboration and commitment to cultural preservation is significant in honoring and celebrating the rich heritage of Agusan del Sur while contributing to academic excellence.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | SUSPENSION OF IN-PERSON CLASSES

In the aftermath of the recent earthquake, ASSCAT is actively assessing the structural integrity of our facilities. In response, we want to inform the public about a TEMPORARY SHIFT from face-to-face to ONLINE classes for both campuses, effective December 4, 2023, until further notice. Please coordinate with your advisers and instructors.

To prioritize safety, students are strictly prohibited from visiting the institution during this period.

The safety of our students is our primary concern, especially in light of the recent earthquake and subsequent aftershocks.

LOOK || MUSEO Tu’ Agusan Empowers ASSCAT Community with Mobile Photography and Editing Training

In a significant stride towards fostering visual literacy and enhancing tourism potential, the MUSEO Tu’ Agusan Project, led by Dr. Vivian C. Peligro, orchestrated a comprehensive Basic Mobile Photography and Editing Training. This transformative event unfolded on December 1, 2023, at the Research, Innovation, Extension, and Development (RIDE) Building of the esteemed ASSCAT institution.

A diverse audience, comprising handpicked faculty and students from ASSCAT, as well as local tour guides representing various municipalities in Agusan del Sur, participated in the enriching program. The distinguished presence of ASSCAT College President, Joy C. Capistrano, added weight to the occasion as she shared an inspiring message with the eager participants.

Guiding the training were notable speakers, namely Mr. Deanne Dawn Cañete, President and Founder of the Agusan Photo Club, and Mr. Eliezer G. Montaos, the Municipal Tourism Officer of Rosario, Agusan del Sur. Their expertise not only lent credibility to the initiative but also provided invaluable insights into the realm of mobile photography and its role in tourism promotion.

Beyond a mere tutorial, the training sought to empower partner communities and stakeholders affiliated with ASSCAT, equipping them with fundamental skills in mobile photo editing. Moreover, it served as a forum to underscore the strategic significance of mobile photography in the broader context of tourism.

This undertaking, marked by its blend of education and practical application, stands as a pivotal milestone in the continuous efforts of MUSEO Tu’ Agusan Project to promote creativity, visual storytelling, and community engagement.
