Meet our first choir, DYCI Dagalak!

DYCI Dagalak is the official choir of Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc. in Bocaue, Bulacan and was founded in 2016 by conductor Mr. Nelson V. Dela Cruz. The name “Dagalak,” meaning the crackling sound of fire in old Tagalog, reflects their passion and energy for music.

Initially composed of high school students, they have achieved national acclaim, winning titles such as the PHILTOA Eco-Chorale Competition (2017), Voices in Harmony (2017, 2018), and NAMCYA Mixed Voices Youth Choir Category (2018). Internationally, they earned gold diplomas and Grand Prix spots at the 11th Orientale Concentus Festival in Singapore and the Busan Choral Festival in South Korea (2023).

We are happy to share that Musiqueño won 2nd Place at the Musikapistahan: The First City of Baliwag Choral Competition Grand Finals held last night! Our sincerest thanks to all our families, friends, partners, and sponsors for all the support as we prepare for this competition. Maraming salamat po!

Also extending our warmest congratulations to the Bulacan Master Chorale and the Inmaculada Concepcion de Malolos Chamber Singers for winning the 3rd Place and the championship, respectively, and all the other choirs who participated in the event. Truly, the province of Bulacan is blessed with immense talent, especially in choral music.
