Saliw ng mga ritmo ng drama, musika, at pakikibaka—hindi lamang pagtatanghal ng mga naratibo ang ihahandog sa inyo ng Teatro—ito’y mag-aalay ng sining na sumasalamin sa kaluluwa ng mga Pilipino. Sa bawat entablado, isasabuhay ang mga hinaing, pangarap, at pakikibaka ng ating mga kababayan. Hindi lamang aliw bagkus ito’y sining na may adhikain—isang daluyan ng kamalayang panlipunan at pagbabago.

Ang aming tanghalan ay para sa masa, para sa mga nasa laylayan, at para sa mga naglalakbay sa gitna ng hamon ng lipunan. Mula sa mga kwentong umiigting sa ating mga puso, hanggang sa mga komedya at satirang nagtatampok ng katotohanan, ang bawat dula ay may layong gisingin ang diwa ng bayan. Ang bawat eksena ay isang hakbang patungo sa isang lipunang mas makatao at mas makatarungan.

Sama-sama nating tahakin ang landas ng pagbabago—ang landas ng SMU Teatro Publiko: sining ang aming armas at adbokasiya ang aming tunguhin. Isulong natin ang Sining Na May Adbokasiya; Sining Para sa Publiko—isang sining na hindi lamang nakaukit sa entablado, kundi sa puso ng bawat isa sa atin. Para sa kultura, para sa kinabukasan, para sa publiko.

MABUHAY ANG TEATRO!

Teatro Katutubo is profoundly grateful for all the lessons and experiences gained during the 2-day theater workshop staged by the DLSU Harlequin Theatre Guild in collaboration with the Provincial Tourism and Culture Office and with the support of SMU Culture Affairs Office as part of the celebration for the 15th Grand Ammungan Festival held at the Ammungan Hall, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya on May 18 and 19, 2024.

Each moment was a journey of growth and creativity that deepens the understanding about the art. All the stories told will be cherished and will keep as an inspiration to continue fostering for change.
