A Portrait of Love

1. Love Is More Than Words—It Is Action
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 shows that true love is patient, kind, forgiving, humble, and enduring. Love is not merely an emotion; it is demonstrated through our actions and attitudes toward others. Christian love becomes visible when we choose to treat others as Christ treats us.

2. Jesus Is the Perfect Portrait of Love
Jesus perfectly demonstrated the love described in 1 Corinthians 13. He was patient with sinners, kind to the hurting, forgiving to those who wronged Him, and willing to endure the cross for our salvation (1 John 3:16; 4:8–10). If we want to learn how to love, we must look at Jesus.

3. Love Must Remain at the Center of Our Christian Life
Faith, hope, and love remain, but “the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13). Spiritual gifts, knowledge, service, and even sacrifice lose their value when they are not motivated by love. In our homes and churches, love can heal divisions, restore relationships, and reveal Christ to others.

Reflection: Am I allowing the love of Christ to be seen in the way I speak, forgive, serve, and treat others?

Spiritual Gifts

Memory Text: “Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.” — 1 Corinthians 14:1 (ESV)

1. Every Spiritual Gift Comes From God for a Purpose (1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Ephesians 4:11–13)
God gives different spiritual gifts to every believer according to His will. No gift is greater than another because each one has a unique purpose in building up the church. Our gifts are not for personal recognition but for serving Christ and strengthening His people.

2. Unity Is Strengthened Through Our Different Gifts (1 Corinthians 12:12–31)
Just as the human body has many parts working together, the church is strongest when every member faithfully uses the gift God has given. Diversity is not meant to divide us but to unite us in one mission. Every believer is valuable and necessary in God's work.

3. Love Gives Spiritual Gifts Their True Value (1 Corinthians 13:1–7; 1 Peter 4:8–11)
Spiritual gifts have little value without love. Love transforms our talents into a blessing for others and reflects Christ's character. Whether we teach, serve, encourage, or lead, our greatest calling is to use every gift with humility, compassion, and love for God's glory.

All to the Glory of God

Memory Text: “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” — 1 Corinthians 10:31

1. Love Is Greater Than Knowledge (1 Corinthians 8:1–13)
Knowledge can make us proud, but love builds up others. Paul reminds us that Christian freedom should never cause another believer to stumble. True maturity is shown not by what we know, but by how we lovingly care for others. When love guides our choices, God is glorified.

2. Choose God's Glory Over Personal Rights (1 Corinthians 9:1–23)
Paul willingly gave up his rights so that nothing would hinder the gospel. His example teaches us that serving Christ often requires sacrifice. Instead of asking, "What am I allowed to do?" we should ask, "Will this bring people closer to Jesus?" A life of selfless service reflects God's character.

3. Flee Every Form of Idolatry (1 Corinthians 10:5–31; Mark 12:28–31)
Idolatry is anything that takes God's rightful place in our hearts. It may not be a carved image—it can be money, success, pleasure, or even ourselves. God calls us to love Him above everything else and to love others as ourselves. When Christ is first in our hearts, every action, big or small, becomes an act of worship that brings glory to God.

Unity in Christ

1. Christ, not human leaders, must be the center of the church.
Cliques and divisions arise when we place too much loyalty in people. Paul reminds us that we belong to Christ, who was crucified for us (1 Cor. 1:12–13). True unity is found when Jesus—not personalities, preferences, or leaders—is the center of our faith.

2. Spiritual maturity means having the mind of Christ.
A mature Christian does not compete, create factions, or seek personal glory. Instead, we follow Christ’s example of humility and selfless service (1 Cor. 3:1–4; Phil. 2:5–8). Unity grows when we are willing to die to self and put the needs of others above our own.

3. Unity requires Christlike love and sacrificial service.
Paul’s ministry shows that true Christian leadership is not about power or recognition but about faithfulness, humility, and sacrifice (2 Cor. 11:23–28; Col. 1:24). When we serve with the spirit of Christ, we build up the church instead of tearing it down.

The Message of the Cross

Memory Text: “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18, NIV).

1. The Cross Reveals God's Saving Power
The world may see the cross as weakness or foolishness, but for those who believe, it is the power of God that brings salvation. Through Christ's sacrifice, we receive forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life. (1 Corinthians 1:18; Colossians 1:20; 1 Peter 2:24)

2. The Cross Calls Us to Trust God's Wisdom
Human wisdom cannot solve the problem of sin, but God's wisdom is revealed through Jesus Christ crucified. Even when God's ways seem beyond our understanding, His plan is always perfect and leads to true life. (1 Corinthians 1:21–25; 2:1–5)

3. The Cross Unites Believers in Christ
The message of the cross reminds us that salvation comes only through Jesus, not through human achievements, status, or divisions. When we focus on Christ crucified, pride disappears and unity grows among God's people. (1 Corinthians 1:10–17, 30–31; Acts 13:38–39)

LESSON 1
Paul's Ministry in Corinth

Memory Text: “One night the Lord said to Paul in a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but speak and do not be silent; for I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to harm you, for there are many in this city who are my people’ ” (Acts 18:9, 10, NRSV).

1. Called by God to Serve (1 Corinthians 1:1; Galatians 1:1)
Paul's ministry began with God's calling, not human choice. God also has a purpose for each of us.

2. Preach Christ Wherever You Are (Acts 18:4–5; 1 Corinthians 2:2)
In a city full of sin and idols, Paul stayed focused on one message—Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

3. Trust God's Presence (Acts 18:9–10; Isaiah 41:10)
When Paul was discouraged, Jesus said, "Do not be afraid... for I am with you." God's presence gives us courage to keep serving.

"Into Eternity"

Memory Text: “Beloved, now we are children of God;
and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we
know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for
we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2, NKJV).

1. Live Every Day for Jesus
Text: Psalm 80:19; James 4:13–14

Life is short, but God's promise is forever. Stay close to Jesus every day because only He can save and guide us.

Lesson: Live today with your eyes on eternity.

2. Look Forward to Seeing Jesus
Text: 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Revelation 22:4

Jesus is coming back soon. One day we will see Him face-to-face and live with Him forever. Every trial will be worth it.

Lesson: Never lose hope because the best is yet to come.

3. Accept His Invitation and Share It
Text: John 6:44; Revelation 22:17

Jesus invites everyone to come to Him. As we follow Him, we should also invite others to know His love and salvation.

Lesson: Follow Jesus today and help others follow Him too.

Closing Thought:
Keep your eyes on Jesus. He is preparing a place for you, and soon we will be with Him forever.

Share Him

Memory Text: “The Lord God has given Me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary.” — Isaiah 50:4 (NKJV)

Sharing Jesus is not first about speaking well; it is about living close to Him. When our hearts are filled with Christ’s love, our words, actions, and attitudes naturally point others to Him.

POINT 1
Share from the Overflow

Text: Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 4:20

Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me… go and make disciples… and I am with you always.” The disciples were not famous teachers, but they had been with Jesus. Because of that, they could not keep silent.

Witnessing is sharing what Christ is doing in your life today.

Reflection: Before asking, “What should I say?” ask, “Am I spending time with Jesus?” A changed life is the strongest sermon.

POINT 2
Speak with Love, Not Force

Text: Matthew 9:36; 1 Peter 3:15

Jesus was moved by compassion for weary people. He invited; He did not coerce. Peter tells us to give a reason for our hope with meekness and respect.

People may forget our arguments, but they rarely forget our kindness.

Reflection: Pray for a gentle heart. Let your words heal, encourage, and give hope “to him who is weary” (Isa. 50:4).

POINT 3
Never Stop Hoping

Text: Jeremiah 31:16–20; Zechariah 10

God’s heart yearns for the wandering child. He says, “There is hope in your future.” Our task is not to condemn but to keep loving, praying, and reflecting Christ.

A consistent, unselfish life can become the bridge that leads someone back to God.

Reflection: Do not give up on family, friends, or anyone who seems far from the Lord. God is still working where we cannot see.

Simple Closing Thought

Share Him by abiding in Him, loving like Him, and hoping with Him. When Christ fills the heart, witnessing becomes a natural overflow of grace. Today, ask God for one person to encourage, one prayer to offer, and one act of kindness that reveals Jesus.

Short Prayer

“Lord Jesus, fill my heart with Your love. Give me the right words, the right spirit, and the courage to share You with someone today. Amen.”
