UA students including ASISTYC members performed their Kawayan Festival piece during the opening program of the Instramurals 2025

Cordillera Festival of Festivals 2025 | ABRA

The Province of Abra highlights the Kawayan Festival, a
vibrant celebration of the province’s rich culture and deep connection to bamboo, or kawayan in Ilocano and Tinggian people of Abra. Held annually on Abra’s foundation day, this festival highlights the versatility and cultural significance of bamboo, a resource that has shaped the province’s identity and resilience.

The Cordillera Festival of Festivals, initiated by the Department of Tourism–Cordillera, was held in Baguio City on October 24.

October 29, 2025 || Today we celebrate the National Indigenous Peoples’ Thanksgiving Day where we honor, give thanks, respect, and recognize the inidigenous peoples in the country.

We honor their resilience, courage, and wisdom in continuing to uphold their rights, culture, and heritage.

The Technocrat and the entire ASIST community celebrates and affirms the recognition of the Indigenous peoples in the region and the country. Matago tago tako am-in!
