Mara Salvatrucha from OG FAMILY, commonly known as MS-13, is a Local San Andreas criminal gang that originated in South Los Santos, San Andreas, in the 1970s and 1980s. Originally the gang was set up to protect Surenos or southerners in Kalye Trece from other gangs in the Los Santos area. Over time, the gang grew into a more traditional criminal organization. MS-13 is defined by its cruelty and its rivalry with the Northern Street Gang. Many MS-13 members were transferred to Blain County after the close of the Civil War in 1992, or upon being arrested, facilitating the spread of the gang to Central San Andreas. The gang is currently active in many parts of the continental Blain County, Paleto Bay, North Los Santos, and South Los Santos. Most members are Southerners. As an LS gang, its history is closely tied to Blain County–Los Santos relations. In 2018, the gang's LS membership of up to hundreds accounted for less than 1% of the several gang members in the San Andreas, and a similar share of gang murders. The gang is often referenced by the San Andreas Nations' Republican Party to advocate for stricter immigration policies.
