I got a year older yesterday. I was thinking of posting something in the lines of “I’m lvl —” but then when I stand up my knees cracked like a twig that’s been stepped on. Leveling up implies that Ive been stronger. I haven’t. So yeah, happy birthday to me. Here’s a pigeon sitting on its butt. I dunno. I just feel like you need to see a pigeon sitting on its butt for no reason. 🙂

Last year has been a year of rest for me, at least that’s what it felt like. I started getting more sleep, I still finished some paintings, and did some hobbies that are a bit far from what I am know for albeit some of it still lines up with art and design. I did a lot of model kit building this year. I got a new camera that I plan on using to take photos of the model kits I built. I learned how to cook new recipes. I’m currently learning how to animate on Procreate Dreams too. I did a lot of good stuff this year.
I’m going to paint again real soon. Hope this year will be a good one too. Also, thank you all the birthday greetings. :]

Back to trying digital for a bit since my desk is filled with plastic runners from a model kit I’m currently building. Just trying out some color combinations and some effects I’m planning to do when I start working on it using real watercolors.

I’d say I’m doing great replicating the traditional watercolor look digitally, but I miss the preparations and the mess I make when doing traditional art. The brushes, the smell of paint too. Art could sometimes be so boring if when you’re following the same rules and techniques every time. Also that’s an excuse for me to do random stuff once in a while.

I love flowers. That’s what I draw when I can’t think of anything to draw. That or bettas. 🙂

Sketches I did last night. I wanted to paint at least one of these two yesterday but I’m not feeling well, but at least I did something. :]

I’ve been reading about Kintsugi or Kintsurukoi (aJapanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold) which is the subject of both paintings. Also so I can try my gold and pearl watercolors that I got last month.

I’m back to doing weird watercolor paintings and other stuff now that Ive cleaned my desk.

A little update: I’ve been enjoying digital art these past few weeks. Though sometimes I find it a bit scary that I can just do whatever I want, whenever I want to. There are limits, but that’s still way too much freedom compared to what I can do using traditional media. Now I’m redoing Sanji because I did a really good job with Zoro and Chopper that it made all the other characters look like little kids and stick figures. I have to redo Luffy too because he’s the centerpiece, and some edits for the others. 😅

And then I got distracted doing hand gestures so here we are.
