Oda suggested rethinking the design to feel more like a cute plush toy, explaining that making Chopper overly realistic could push the character into the uncanny valley.

He also noted that Chopper’s voice was an important topic of discussion. Rather than the ironic “cute” style often used in Hollywood, Oda felt the character needed a charm that felt distinctly Japanese.

For Oda, capturing that warmth and innocence was essential to preserving the heart of One Piece and making sure Chopper connects with fans the way he does in the original story.

Jacob Gibson is easily the most underrated actor in the Straw Hat cast.

He’s never out of character, never sounds cringe, and his performance in the Little Garden episodes was solid.

He’s honestly the best actor in the Live-Action so far, and he reminded fans why they still love Usopp. Hopefully, he gets more moments to shine in live action.

Chopper and Zoro — ONE PIECE anime vs. ONE PIECE live action.

The moment Zoro saw Chopper crying, he instantly gave off “I’m carrying him” energy. Chopper is literally Zoro’s son in every version, and nothing will convince me otherwise. Their father-son duo is already too good in the anime, and I honestly cannot wait to see that same bond in the live action too. Season 3 needs to hurry up.
