Intel Lastierreโs solo exhibition, ๐๐ค๐๐จ, ๐๐ค๐ฌ๐จ, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐, opens at B17 Art Space. Through six paintings, she reimagines mythological narratives to confront enduring cycles of patriarchy, colonialism, and gender-based violence. The figures of Medusa, Cassandra, Persephone, Iphigenia, Andromeda, and Philomena emerge not as victims, but as agents of resistance.
Born in the Philippines and now based in San Marcos, Texas, Lastierre brings a multidisciplinary foundation to her practice, shaped by studies in architecture, engineering, photography, and art history. In 2014, she co-founded the House of Frida Gallery in Bacolod City. Her varied background informs a narrative-driven approach that threads together memory, mythology, and lived experience through contemporary image-making.
Please join us on Friday, December 12, 2025, for the opening.
