In September morning, the earth awakes anew.
The leaves whisper prayers in the morning dew;
The air smells like a new beginning
While water tells us to care for our living.

A season where every element communicates.
Encourages people to recreate
Protects and saves our environment
Cause we care, we love for Godโ€™s creation

Living water reminds us to go with the flow
As we also see the world grow
This season shows us to be gentle and thankful,
For a love we give for being grateful.

For the students and teachers to easily recall the step-by-step process in bandaging and to provide immediate response to a patient that need CPR, she demonstrated its processes; after which, a simulation was done by students and teachers for them to experience the proper procedures.

For the final part of this activity, the fire marshals conducted a drill on processing water from the fire truck for fire suppression. They selected two teacher representatives to experience the procedures. This includes connecting and deploying fire hoses, build and control water pressure, opening water discharge to hose lines, and applying water to the fire.

Overall, the seminar provides awareness and additional knowledge to students and teachers particularly on giving immediate responses and actions to any emergency situations- this is to avoid injuries, minimize the risks, and promotes preparedness.

APARRI CAGAYAN-the Secondary School Learner Government (SSLG) officers, through the dynamic leadership of Mr. Orlando B. Antonio and supervision of Ms. Lyann Kate C. Alicuben initiated a coastal clean -up drive called โ€œMakiisa CVI para sa Malinis na Karagatanโ€ at CENRO, Punta today. With the mantra โ€œSaving the environment starts from ourselves-do it because you can do it.โ€; students, together with the faculty members and personnel of Cagayan Valley Institute Incorporated picked up litters such as candy wrappers, empty plastic bottles, plastic bags and other non-biodegradable materials along the coastline. This environmental stewardship program aims to put into practice the essence of Season of Creation that is being celebrated this month.

With unity and heart of protecting the environment, this simple gesture can preserve the marine environment against degradation, pollution, and natural disasters in general. This also encourages everyone to love the environment because the environment is a gift from God.

Don't you know that there are only three birthday celebrations being celebrated by the Catholic Church on its calendar? The birthday of St. John the Baptist which is every 24th day of June , Jesus Christ's birthday on December 25, and Mama Mary's birthday every 8th day of September as the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Today marks a significant day for the Catholic Church as we celebrate the birthday of Mama Mary. It reminds the communities and families to unite and pray the Rosary as a gesture of gratitude and honor to her.

Mama Mary, pray for us.

Spearheaded by Mrs. Jemaica R. Panaga, campus ministry coordinator of Cagayan Valley Institute Incorporated, students and teachers gathered as one to celebrate the Season of Creation at the Junior High School Building today.

With the aim to deepen the awareness of the students and school personnel about their responsibility to care for God's creation, this also served an opportunity to reflect, pray, and encourage each one to protect the environment.

Being the discussant, Panaga emphasized the role of students in taking care the environment amidst of experiencing natural challenges nowadays such as climate change, global warming, flashfloods, pollution, and the like. Reiterating that in their simple ways of participating tree planting and coastal clean up activities, they can save Mother Earth from danger for the future generation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Orlando B. Antonio, school principal also underscored the importance of water and being responsible individual in nurturing life-enabling the students to reflect.

โ€œThere are just very few seedlings that were given, very few that are growing. Most of them died, like you, because nobody cared for them. We did not water them. We did not take care of them. There is enough water for us to water the plants, but we did not do thatโ€”thatโ€™s why they died. As we celebrate this Season of Creation, let us remember that, like plants, our lives depend on water. Without water, we may not live; we cannot live.โ€

This session was filled with realizations that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility-that everyone in the Catholic community can be a responsible steward in protecting the environment which is a gift from God.

APARRI, CAGAYAN, September 7, 2026 โ€” Senior Highschool students of Cagayan Valley Institute, Inc. (CVI) were given the chance to learn about the meaning of hospitality, service, and vocation in an informative orientation conducted by the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

During the orientation, one of the Sisters introduced the students to their association and their missionโ€” explaining hospitality as the heart of their service.

The Sisters shared how they dedicate their lives to caring, and accompanying people who are in need, particularly people facing mental health difficulties, abandoned children, and other vulnerable individuals.

Through their ministry, the Sisters of the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus organization around the world strive to create an environment where people feel accepted, cared for, valued, and loved.

An important part of the orientation was vocationโ€” to give the students a deeper understanding of what it means to answer a calling.

The senior highschool students were encouraged to understand that vocation is not only limited to either proffesional jobs or religious life, because it could be both. Because it involves discovering one's purpose and calling throughout their life, and discerning how one's gifts and life can be used to serve God and His creations.

The orientation became more interactive as the students were given an opportunity to ask questions. They asked about what the sisters had experienced in religious life, their decision to become nuns, the challenges they encountered, and what had inspired them to dedicate their lives into God and serving others.

An information booth was then prepared outside the venue, displaying brochures, materials, and information about the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesusโ€” giving students an additional opportunity to learn about their mission and their organization.

Overall, this session allowed the senior high school students to look past the stereotype understanding of being a nun and discover the depth of a vocation centered on faith, hospitality, compassion, and service. It is a way of living that opens one's heart to people, especially those who is most in need of care and understanding.
