Soft Monuments: Interrupting Memory explores anti-monumentalism tendencies within the Philippine context where public memory is often shaped by grand narratives of heroism, colonial legacy, and state-sanctioned history. Presented by Thumbnail Gallery, the exhibition is a collaboration between Manuel Mesina III (eshei.mesina) and Miles Villanueva (Miles Villanueva) whose practices resist permanence, question authority, and reimagine how memory is constructed and shared.
Rather than erecting new icons, the exhibition proposes gestures that are fragile, temporary, and open-ended, works that unsettle the idea of the monument as fixed and unquestionable.
Mesina’s performance art will be held throughout the day on October 10, 2026 at booth 32, Thumbnail Gallery.

Art Luzon 2026 marks a new chapter as it enters its 5th edition. Formerly known as the Luzon Art Fair, Art Luzon embraces an expanded regional vision that extends beyond its geographic origins.
