The company, instituted i

n August 2007 as ENCORE 2007 Philippines Inc., was conceived to become the vortex of every diverse but interrelated genre of culture and the arts. Thus, ENCORE Philippines adheres to the institutional precept of nourishing the spiritual yearnings of artists vis-à-vis the transcendent aspirations of audiences. It is home for both young and veteran artists of diverse creative endeavors – edifying viewers during which the innate sense of humanity of performers is unearthed thereby transforming both actors and spectators into nobler human beings. Without departing from the modesty of its beginnings, ENCORE Philippines, albeit on a gradual phase, sustainably progresses into becoming a full-pledged institution where craftsmanship is translated into artistic distinction. From a plain theater company in its formative years, the Company slowly transforms into a hub talents and cultural workers where visions and orientations are laid out for teaching and learning. By the same token, ENCORE Philippines serves as a functional midpoint of culture and the arts. It is, on the one hand, a dynamic conservatory where emergent trends and evolutions in the artistic and cultural spheres are imparted, articulated and put into practice. On the other hand, it is a perceptive consortium of talents and cultural workers committed and willing to work collectively to the fullest of their potentials – to learn and earn the right to be part of that creative effort known as performance. It acknowledges creative competence and enhances budding imaginative potentials to advance the right artistic experience for both actors and audiences. The company stands for collaboration and teamwork: operating within collaborative working conditions through collective ingenuity approaches that revolutionize the traditional bureaucracy in theater, film and events production, and talents and culture-related concepts management and consultancy. The kinds of materials ENCORE Philippines takes into consideration production wise are theater plays, recognized or otherwise, written either by earlier or contemporary Filipino playwrights. Comparably, in the field of filmmaking, the assemblage of experimental cinema and short motion pictures, either in full-feature or documentary form, tops the Company’s preferential option. These two creative ventures occupying the helm of ENCORE Philippines’ ventures notwithstanding, the Company does not depart from other imaginative endeavors, i.e. cultural events conceptualization and ex*****on, talents pooling and casting, and theater and cinema production management and consultancy. ENCORE Philippines traces its roots to its founding directors’ progressive theater and literary origins. One was a former student of Ms. Cecile Guidote-Alvarez, organizer of the PHILIPPINE EDUCATIONAL THEATER ASSOCIATION (PETA) and former executive director of the NATIONAL COMMISSION ON CULTURE AND THE ARTS (NCCA) and multi-awarded veteran actress Ms. Angie Ferro, founder of DULAANG BONIFACIO FOUNDATION, INC. The other an awarded fictionist, poet and playwright having spent years in street theater, alternative literature and cultural involvement in various cause-oriented and civil society organizations. Both of them, with the rest of the corporate officials, all highly-capable and similarly talented, envision the evolution of ENCORE Philippines into a vibrant community of performance artists, creative talents, cultural workers, and arts enthusiasts and patrons, bustling with socially-relevant projects and events geared towards the economic emancipation collectively striving for the attainment of artistic excellence and exceptional craftsmanship for both actors and audiences. Construal and handling of projects vary according to whatever undertakings are at hand. With the end in view of giving cognizance to the much-overlooked SELF, ENCORE Philippines is predisposed to pick on projects that punctuates the ideological, intellectual emotional, spiritual, political and moral conditions of the HUMAN, as well as its carnal and subliminal conscious state. While the survival of production companies is dependent on the business acumen of marketing, major players in the field are generally profit-oriented. As such, the tendency is to employ elaborate sets hand-in-hand with colorful layers of costumes, thereby overshadowing the essential ideas with the iridescent glow of the lighting while captive audience sit and leave the theater superficially mesmerized, deluded and short-changed. In the ex*****on of its projects, ENCORE Philippines focuses on the CHARACTER, veering away from frivolous approaches widely utilized by existing production companies in handling projects. ENCORE Philippines envisions itself to evolve into one of the most influential training institutes in the country bringing substantial benefits to art development in general, not limited to performance arts and the Philippine domestic milieu. Fifteen years into its founding, ENCORE Philippines upholds thus far the principle that the lesser privileged audience from the disadvantaged sectors are prioritized to be catered and developed. Within this vision, the Company’s Marketing Bureau works towards forging sponsorship with partner organizations, patron institutions and allied commercial establishments to subsidize ticket costs for its audiences, most of who are students, conceivably to reduce tickets to half its original price, in order to provide every student and underprivileged audiences, the opportunity to watch and appreciate plays and films and be part of every project handled. Hand in hand with the Marketing Bureau, the Company’s Artistic Bureau and Administrative Bureau works around the risk of combining both the social mission of ENCORE Philippines to its audience with their own responsibility of self-preservation and subsistence, hence employing mainstream actors, veteran performers and budding talents to communally finance the performance artists’ common vision towards audience development. VISION, MISSION AND OBJECTIVES

The acknowledgment of ARTISTIC COMPETENCE AND DISTINCTION, encouragement of budding potentials to GAIN THE PROPER EXPERIENCE, and exertion of initiatives towards COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK: operating within communal working conditions that REVOLUTIONIZE THE TRADITIONAL BUREAUCRACY in theater, cinema, performance arts, creative concept development and consultancy, talents management and cultural events production.
6. The optimization of arts and culture as steadfast unifying baseline of the ARTISTS’ SOCIAL MISSION to their audience and their own responsibility of self-preservation and subsistence and as a dependable source of wherewithal of actors, creators and other talents to help defray the achievement of their vision towards AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT.
