In celebration of the 129th Sanduguan (Pacto de Sangre) Festival 2026, the Local Government Unit of New Washington, through the Municipal Tourism Office, in cooperation with the Philippine Folk Dance Society โ Lunday Dance Company - Aklan Chapter, proudly present:

A Folk Dance Competition featuring the Occupational Dances of New Washington, Aklan

This cultural competition highlights the rich occupational heritage of New Washington through authentic, research-based folk dances that embody the life, labor, and identity of our people.
โ๏ธ MECHANICS
1. The contest is open to all Barangays, public/private schools, social groups, and folk dance enthusiasts of New Washington, Aklan.
2. Each participating group must have a minimum of eight (8) and a maximum of sixteen (16) dancers and must be a resident of New Washington, Aklan issued with a Certificate of Residency by the Punong Barangay.
3. The contest piece must be any one (1) unpublished occupational dance of New Washington, based on researches conducted by MAEd-PE students of ASU New Washington and local researchers, such as:

4. Live music is not allowed.
5. Medley or combination of different dances is strictly not allowed.
6. The Head Coach/Choreographer will receive an official copy of the dance literature and music from the secretariat. This material must not be reproduced, copied, or distributed without the authorโs explicit permission. Any unauthorized duplication may result in copyright liability and corresponding penalties.
7. For dances where the literature does not specify the entrance and/or exit, the choreographer may arrange one; however, both entrance and exit must not exceed thirty-two (32) measures. Pre-entrance is not allowed.
8. Deadline of submission of entries is on ๐
