A Prayer for the Middle East

Our Heavenly Father,
We become to You with hearts that feel too heavy for words. Our hearts ache as we lift before You the people caught in the shadows of conflict. Hold every trembling soul tonight, Lord. The mother trying to hush her child so they won’t hear the chaos outside… the father who keeps whispering “It will be okay” even when he doesn’t know what tomorrow looks like… the elderly who feel too weak to run… the young who wonder why their dreams suddenly feel so far away. Jesus, cradle them close. Let Your arms be the shelter their walls can no longer provide. Let Your voice be the comfort their hearts are desperate to hear. Let Your presence be the calm that settles over their fear-ridden nights. Lord, breathe peace over every home, every hospital, every bunker, every wounded city. Send angels to guard those who are afraid to sleep. Pour strength into those caring for the injured. Whisper courage into every heart that feels like giving up. Lord, we especially lift up domestic helpers, Overseas Filipino Workers, and all Filipinos living and working in the Middle East. Many are far from home, separated from their families, carrying responsibilities not only for themselves but for loved ones depending on them. Protect them, Father. Be their refuge and fortress. Guard them in the homes where they work, in the streets where they travel, and in the quiet spaces where fear tries to creep in. And please, Jesus… stay close. Let them feel You right beside them, hand over theirs, light in their darkness, hope in their hopelessness. Bring a dawn that no weapon can delay. Bring healing only Heaven can give. Until that day when You wipe away every tear Yourself, keep them under Your wings. We trust Your heart, even when our own hearts are breaking.

God promises us that a "peace which surpasses all understanding" will guard our heart and mind. It suggests that instead of worrying, believers should present their requests to God, and He will provide inner peace.
