Tourism Summit 2026 ✨ | A milestone for Sugar Clay Beads**

Sharing a few moments from the Tourism Summit 2026, captured by the official Davao Occidental Provincial Tourism Office.

A heartfelt thank you to the -Province of Davao Occidental and the Provincial Tourism Office for this opportunity to showcase my craft, share my story, and connect with people who share the same passion for creativity and culture. ❤️

Pitching my entry was nerve-racking, but I did my best to share what Sugar Clay Beads is all about and what I can contribute. I'm grateful for the experience, the meaningful engagements, and the people I met along the way.

What started in 2012 as a therapeutic escape from a hectic office schedule has grown into something truly meaningful. Through every challenge, Sugar Clay Beads continues to evolve, and I'm excited for what lies ahead.

This is just the beginning.

Oi, ha. 🥹 It was never an easy journey since 2012.

I first enrolled in a clay jewelry-making workshop in 2012. Honestly, I just wanted to do something on weekends—something different from my usual routine.

I had an early start in life, and the road wasn't exactly easy. I took an associate course and earned a two-year diploma in Computerized Accountancy. For almost 10 years, I worked in the corporate world—7 years as a contractual employee, moving through different projects and companies. Kasi nga, hindi naman ako degree holder.

Eventually, I landed a job in the BPO industry and became a regular employee. I stayed for 3 years, saved money, and slowly started putting more focus into what I truly wanted to do—hosting workshops and creating with my hands.

Then came the pandemic in 2020.

Everything changed. But somehow, the arts and crafts business survived. And so did I.

From something I started on weekends in 2012, I am now running a legally registered business, creating, teaching, traveling, and meeting people along the way.

Looking back, I never imagined that those little clay pieces I made years ago would eventually become my livelihood.

Today, I am blessed to work from home—sometimes literally in my pajamas. 🙈
I have flexible time. I have options. I have choices.

And perhaps one of the greatest blessings is having a kind of work that doesn't feel like work, because I genuinely love what I do.

I enjoy creating.
I enjoy teaching.
I enjoy meeting people.
And I love that somehow, this little hobby from 2012 became a life I once only wished for.

Still learning. Still creating. Still choosing this path. 🤍

From a weekend hobby… to a business, a livelihood, and a purpose.

2012 → 2026.
And this journey is far from over. 🧡

🥉 3RD PLACER — HOMESTYLE CATEGORY ✨️

Likha ng Davao Occidental | Souvenir Making Competition

Tourism Summit 2026 • Malita, Davao Occidental

HERITAGE IN ONE PIECE
🌴🍌🐟🏛️

A custom-made polymer clay souvenir created to capture the identity of Davao Occidental in one piece.

Inspired by the province’s coconut and banana farms, abundant seas, tuna industry, and the Davao Occidental Provincial Capitol, every element was carefully sculpted by hand and brought together as a miniature representation of the province’s land, livelihood, and heritage.

What started as an idea to create a meaningful souvenir became a piece that was recognized with 3rd Place in the Homestyle Category at the Likha ng Davao Occidental Souvenir Making Competition, part of Tourism Summit 2026.

Grateful for the opportunity to create something that does more than represent a place—it tells its story. 💚

HERITAGE IN ONE PIECE
