𝑭𝑬𝑨𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑬 | 𝑴𝑨𝑹𝑰𝑺 𝑨𝑹𝑻𝑰𝑺𝑻𝑺 𝑻𝑨𝑲𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑪𝑨𝑵𝑽𝑨𝑺 𝑨𝑻 𝑹𝑨𝒀𝑹𝑨𝒀-𝑨𝑾 2026
The Provincial Government of La Union conducted Rayray-Aw (Celebration of La Union Artistry) on September 12, 2026, at the Speaker Pro-Tempore Francisco I. Ortega Convention Center, City of San Fernando, La Union.
This initiative is held annually to further promote the language, culture, and arts of the province. One of the highlights of the event was 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙞 𝘼𝙜𝙡𝙖𝙬𝙇𝙖𝙪: 𝙊𝙣-𝙩𝙝𝙚-𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙩 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 which provided local artists with an opportunity to showcase their talents in the field of visual arts. It also aimed to discover artists who may eventually represent the province in larger competitions.
Four brave and creative souls from MARIS took on this year's challenge: 𝙊𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙂𝙖𝙟𝙤, 𝘼𝙣𝙖 𝙉𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙜𝙖, 𝙀𝙡𝙤𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙅𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙧, and 𝙄𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙦𝙪𝙚
The participants were given 7 hours and 30 minutes to complete a 2 × 3-foot box type canvas using acrylic paint as their medium. With the theme centered on depicting the beauty and heritage of La Union, the artists transformed their ideas into vibrant works of art as every second counted.
Among the participants, 𝙄𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 𝙀𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙦𝙪𝙚 was selected as one of the 𝙏𝙤𝙥 20 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙨, while 𝙊𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙂𝙖𝙟𝙤 claimed the 𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙈𝙋𝙄𝙊𝙉𝙎𝙃𝙄𝙋 title, emerging as the winner of this year's competition.
This milestone brings immense pride to the MARIS family. Truly, our MARIS artists continue to prove that their artistry knows no bounds 🌟
