🚨 LOAN SHARKS ARE DESTROYING LIVES IN PNG – AND NO ONE IS STOPPING THEM! 😡💸
Across the country, more and more of our people are falling victim to loan sharks—those illegal money lenders charging 50% to 100% interest in just ONE or TWO weeks.
Yes, you heard right: Borrow K100 today, and you’re forced to pay back K150–K200 or more in a matter of days. And if you miss that deadline? The debt keeps growing and growing like a snake tightening around your life. 🐍
💔 These loans might look like a quick fix, but they come with a painful price:
No contracts. No formal agreements.
Just pressure, threats, and fear.
If you can't repay on time, they take your phone, car, land, property—even your house.
But the worst part?
👉 People who borrow from these sharks don’t just lose money—they lose freedom.
Many live in fear…
Afraid to walk freely in public
Always looking over their shoulders
Hiding from calls and messages
Losing their joy, their peace, their happiness 😔
What started as a small loan to buy food or pay school fees becomes a trap that takes over your life. Some people are working just to pay interest, not even touching the original loan.
🛑 And we ask: Who is regulating these loan sharks?
Who is protecting the everyday Papua New Guinean from this cruel exploitation?
These sharks are taking advantage of the suffering of their own people—our fellow countrymen and women who are already struggling just to survive.
⚠️ This is financial abuse, plain and simple.
We need:
✅ Stronger laws to stop illegal money lenders
✅ Public awareness to warn people before they borrow
✅ Better, safer alternatives for people in urgent need
If you've been a victim—you're not alone. It's time we speak out. It's time we protect each other. Because money problems should never cost you your freedom, your peace, or your future.
