CYCLONE MAILA AFFECTED COMMUNITIES.
The cyclone has caused widespread destruction to homes, food gardens, water sources, and basic infrastructure. Many families are now displaced, with limited access to shelter, clean drinking water, food supplies, and medical assistance. The situation remains critical as vulnerable groups—including children, mothers, and the elderly—are facing increased risk.
We are therefore calling on the Disaster Office, National Members, non-government organizations, churches, and all partners to urgently assist with the following:
• Emergency food supplies
• Temporary shelter materials (tarpaulins, tents, roofing)
• Clean water and sanitation support
• Medical supplies and health services
• Tools and materials for rebuilding homes and restoring livelihoods
The people of Kongara #2 are resilient, but the scale of this disaster is beyond our local capacity. Immediate support is essential to prevent further hardship and to help our communities recover and rebuild.
We sincerely appeal for your prompt response and assistance during this difficult time.
