The 17th Festival celebrating kenu (canoe) and kundu (drum) culture in Alotau, Milne Bay.

The festival is a bi annual event that happens every 1st weekend of November in the sleepy seaside township of Alotau in Papua New Guinea's Milne Bay Province. This festival is the southern region's major event of the year and showcases coastal communities way of life particularly through traditional sailing canoes. There's also the aspect of kundu (traditional drums) and this is catered to in tra

ditional dances and rituals. Occasionally other provinces in PNG also participate, but it is largely Milne Bay Province-based.

Dear stakeholders/partners and friends of the festival, this notice is to inform the public of the decision to defer the festival to 2022 due to covid and other issues.
