This half sleeve started with a very full inquiry.
Heather came to me with pages of notes: plants, animals, symbols, memories, cultural references.
Nothing random. Nothing “just because it looks nice.”
Our job together wasn’t to include everything,
but to translate what matters into a design that actually works on the body.
We chose elements intentionally:
• plants connected to her heritage and personal story
• papel picado as a thread that ties everything together
• small animals as quiet, meaningful details
• space, movement, and rhythm, so the arm could breathe.
This sleeve was built through conversation, edits, trust, and time.
This is how I work on large projects:
collaboratively, thoughtfully, and always with respect for both the story and the body.
Thank you, Heather, for trusting me with such a personal project 🤍
If you’re dreaming about a larger piece and want it to feel personal,
this is your sign to start the conversation.
