As you might know. Of the 8 struts and cavane strut I broke 5 of them when trying to prevent the kit falling to the floor. The wing is being hold only by 2 cavane struts. I am gluing each of them with CA. This kit is all a big aviattic decal and I made a mess of it trying to put it back together because with the CA I use aceletaror which damage the paint of the decal as you can see, but only because I rubbed a micro aplicator to the decal. Leason learn.
Anyway. At least i think one good thing came out of this i am glad. The technique i use to glue the rogging without the top wing and setting all the rigging (cut, insert thread on tubbing) and just glue the 2 end together work so we'll that even after this disaster all the lines stay attached. On broke but the actual tubing stay connected. Very strong

After all this disaster I am surprised how well all the rigging stay together. This method will make my rigging a lot easier and faster. If you want to lnkw a bit more what I am talking about please check my antepenultimate post.

No me jodas!!!! I almost dropped it, but i grab it too hard I guess. All the wing struts broke and one cavane strut also.
To make matters worst o tried to glue them them back with CA. 💩💩.
I do feel the struts were allways about to breake. The cavane strut all broke. And this wing struts felt very fragile.
At least I have 2 more soptwith to go. I will finish it with CA. And I will not take close up pic 😆

Easy RAF rigging
I have unlocked a new level of laziness when doing rigging. And only for British style rigging were I dont have to make those those loops or eyelets that I have done on German planes. BTW. I had purchased gaspatch raf turnbuckles but I didnt like them. I.MO. too big. Even rhe 1/48. I even made my own but when I compare what I see on pictures of the real thing they are just too big.

I started to do the rigging on the sopwith camel. I wanted to use the infiny thread which is thinner than the EZ line. With the infiny I could use the smaller diameter tube. But I found out or at least the thread I have that all comes out curved and that made it harder for me to insert in the smaller 0.5mm tube. (See first pic) so I change to EZ line which comes straight but is flat and a bit bigger and that made it a hell of a lot harder to insert it in the 0.5mm tube so I change to a 0.6mm.
For The outer struts (the rigging cross between the 2 struts) I use the 0.5 and when compared to the 0.6mm that I use for the rigging between the fuselage and the wing you can't tell the difference.

I also started rigging without the top wing. The force that is put by the thread between the 2 struts made no difference. It didn't bend a bit.

I had forgotten how much a Pain in T.A. is to do rigging. 🤣

After I finish this i have 2 more sopwith to do.
