Ruakaka Recreation Centre Ruakaka Recreation Centre is a community facility for sports and recreation activities.

Our Centre has a Unisex gym and a separate Ladies gym both of which have 24/7 access. Casual users can access the gym for $2 on Monday to Friday 8am to 2pm, Thursdays from 8am to 6pm. Other activities include Light Circuit Fitness class, Yoga, Stretching, Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Make a Scene drama classes, for small children Music & Play, Karate and Indoor Bowls. There is a Country Music club meeting o

n the 1st Monday of the month and the Over 60's also meet every 4th Friday. The Bream Bay Association Football Club and Bream Bay Squash Club are based at our Centre. Ever wanted to give aerial hoop (lyra) a go? Now's your chance!
Aerial hoop is a fun aerial fitness activity performed on a suspended steel hoop. In this supportive beginner-friendly class, you'll learn simple poses, transitions and sequences while building strength, flexibility, coordination and confidence.
✨ No experience required
✨ No gymnastics background needed
✨ No upper body strength required
✨ Small class sizes (maximum 3 people)
✨ Adults 18+

Join us at 7pm at the Ruakākā Recreation Centre, Peter Snell Road, for an important community meeting hosted by the Ruakākā Residents & Ratepayers Association.

Guest speakers:
Jon Moore, CEO of Northport – Port Expansion update
Bream Bay Guardians – Sand Mining discussion

The evening will be followed by the Ratepayers AGM, including committee elections, reports and updates.

Join us for a free Ready to Rent workshop designed to empower individuals and whanau with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to successfully overcome common barriers in finding and maintaining a rental home – in social housing and private rental market.

You can expect two days of valuable lessons, education, information, and guidance to obtain rental property and maintain tenancy. The two-day workshop will be covering various topics including:

🔅Rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords
🔅Ministry of Social Development (MSD) products and services
🔅Healthy, warm, and dry home
🔅Personal presentation at rental viewings and interviews
🔅Managing your money & budgeting advice and support
🔅What landlords and property managers are looking for
🔅What makes a desirable tenant?​, and more.

Upon completion of the two-day workshop, participants will receive helpful resources, and a Certificate of Completion to include in future rental applications.
