Our beginners pottery course at McLeod Bay is over!!!! After 6 weeks of careful work, learning all about coiling and slab rolling and making good joints and controlling drying time and avoiding warping we have a whole heap of finished and bisque fired work... and not one bit lost in the kiln. Well done everyone!!! I'm looking forward to doing it all again in Feb!!

Glaze is amazing, beautiful and when it works well SOOOO satisfying BUT sometimes there is something you want and you know glaze is never going to give it.... and for those moments there is paint. These are the 2 sides of a ceramic, 'Out Of This World' disk. 37cm diameter with an acrylic paint and varnish surface.

We have lift off!!! After a 'complicated' start trying to use Art Shed we now have a firm 'trial' booking at McLeod Bay Hall for a 6 week beginners course. Start date is Friday 29th Aug - every Friday for 6 weeks. I hope if we keep our noses (& tables & floors) clean we can develop this into an ongoing weekly pottery group and more.
