"Last of the lineage" by Teresa HR Lane, 500x500mm. On show now at our booth U40 at the Aotearoa Art Fair. This work, featuring Tuatara, is part of "Mine to Mine" - Lane's new collection of mixed media collage works.

In "Mine to Mine", Lane draws attention to the vulnerability of several of Aotearoa's flora and fauna species, all strangely positioned in surrealist landscapes. These are truly unique works that challenge some viewers and delight others. That's art for you!
The fair runs all day Saturday and Sunday and is definitely worth a visit. Jam packed with wonderful art that will leave you visually replenished and inspired. x

Mixed media collage, "Juggling Extinction" by Teresa HR Lane is on show at Aotearoa Art Fair, 1-4 May 2025. We are so excited to present an extraordinary body of work by Teresa titled "Mine to Mine". This new series calls for a deeper awareness of Aotearoa's ecological fragility, seeking to highlight the plight of the small and unseen—species often overlooked in our daily lives yet vital to the circle of life.
This work features three different species of precious Mokomoko, all vulnerable to extinction as a result of environmental degradation from practices such as deforestation, mining, and the introduction of predators.

"Saving from Drowning" by Teresa HR Lane is just one of the fascinating works we are showing at Aotearoa Art Fair, Auckland, 1-4 May. This year it's all about Teresa! Her new collection of works titled "Mine to Mine" seeks to highlight the plight of the small and often unseen - endemic species that are often overlooked in our daily lives in Aotearoa in need our attention. This work features Mokomoko (Canterbury spotted skink) whose threat of extinction is at a critical level.

Through the mediums of paper and paint, Lane explores the collective illusion of paradise, known as ‘God’s Own’, interrogating the construction and deconstruction of meaning in the modern world.

"for the love of worms" is just one of the fabulous collage works by Teresa HR Lane that we have on show this week at the Aotearoa Art Fair. Teresa's new series of works "Mine to Mine" features small and often unseen endemic species in Aotearoa that require our attention, and not because they're cute! Ngāokeoke -Velvet Worm, (yes they look like caterpillars, but are not) are an important component of a healthy ecosystem AND they have been around for 500 million years. Through this fascinating collection of works, Lane draws attention to the vulnerability of our unique flora and fauna, underscoring the very real threat of extinction for many species.

"I take you for granted" by Teresa HR Lane will be on show this week at the Aotearoa Art Fair in Auckland. We are thrilled to be showing Teresa's new collection of works "Mine to Mine" which draws attention to small and often unseen species in Aotearoa. This particular work features the Pepe Para Riki - common copper butterfly, which is under threat from Wasp predation. Lanes practice of ‘painting with paper, drawing with scissors’ has been extended in this new series "Mine to Mine" with the inclusion of paint. The elements of paper and paint working in unison to create an entirely new visual effect - we love it! Through this cohabitation, Lane provokes questions regarding how information is consumed, offering a sharp and layered critique of the ways past and present intertwine, remapping how history is read, and interrogating construction and deconstruction of meaning in the modern world.
