Dear Members and Music loving friends,

We begin our 2026 concert with great confidence in the quality, variety, and vibrancy of our programme. All our concerts will be in partnership with Chamber Music New Zealand ( CMNZ) guaranteeing only the best musicians are selected.

Please share this opportunity with your friends. We depend upon our audiences to continue bringing top quality concerts to Whangarei, and to support NZ's best musicians.

Our first concert, Trio Obscura, features award-winning musicians Robert Ashworth and Sarah Watkins (Aotearoa Music Awards 2022 Classical Artists of the Year), along with Auckland Philharmonia principal oboist Bede Hanley.

The programme includes composers, August Klughardt and Charles Martin Loeffler, who tap into the romantic and impressionist sound worlds from which they emerged. Alyssa Morris (a rising star on the US music scene) tackles some of life’s Big Questions in a powerful, whimsical, profound and goofy masterpiece, while New Zealand composer Janet Jennings shares her warmth and eloquence in a brand-new work for the group.
