I was asked to host a beginners painting evening for a lovely group of peoples social club.
They provided drinks, location, nibbles, materials and suggested a theme.
I whipped up this small 'maunga to moana' painting and had a great time showing them how to do it.
One of the more random art jobs i have had...but also one of the more enjoyable!

Years ago a piece of my art got stolen from mint cafe...it was a lion (i was secretly stoked that anyone would bother).
That was the first Lion I ever painted, this is the second and this guy is a tribute to the first lion that went before him.
This free styled Lion is by the entrance of mint cafe and is not only a mufusa style tribute to my stolen lion but also has a bit of a matariki theme going down in the stars as I finished it on matariki.
