We are delighted to congratulate our Affiliated Cultural Partner, Gu Hua Studio, on their wonderful participation and success at the Asian Pacific Festival 2026.

As a fine art photography studio dedicated to showcasing the beauty of traditional Chinese attire, Gu Hua Studio brought elegance, artistry, and cultural depth to the festival. Through their work, visitors were able to experience the timeless beauty and cultural significance of Hanfu, an important symbol of Chinese heritage.

Welcome our affiliated cultural Partner Gu Hua Studio!

On this special day of love, we are delighted to officially welcome Gu Hua Studio as an affiliated cultural partner of the Aotearoa Chinese Culture and Arts Centre. 💐

Gu Hua Studio is New Zealand’s first artistic photography studio dedicated to showcasing and reviving the beauty of Hanfu (traditional Chinese attire) through timeless photography.

This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate not only love,
but also beauty, heritage, and meaningful connections across cultures.

This partnership marks an exciting step forward as we continue to build a platform in Aotearoa that supports high-quality cultural experiences, aesthetic education, and artistic expression within our community.

🎶 Performance Announcement | Guzheng & P**a 🎶

We are delighted to share that musicians from Aotearoa Chinese Classical Culture and Arts Centre will be performing a Guzheng & P**a Duo at the Asian Pacific Festival(APF), presenting the lively and much-loved piece Yizu Wuqu (Yi Ethnic Dance Melody).

Inspired by the Yi ethnic people of south-west China, Yizu Wuqu is vibrant, rhythmic, and full of movement — music that captures festive dancing, mountain landscapes, and a vibrant love of life. Through the rich resonance of the guzheng and the bright, percussive energy of the p**a, this performance brings traditional Chinese music to life in a vivid and engaging way.

The Aotearoa Chinese Culture and Arts Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Melody Wang as a Resident Artist.

Melody Wang is an accomplished musician, educator, and guzheng artist, recognised for her dedication to the preservation and promotion of traditional Chinese music. Her work reflects a deep commitment to artistic excellence and cultural exchange.

As a Resident Artist, Melody will contribute to the Centre’s ongoing mission to foster cultural understanding and to share the richness of Chinese classical arts with the wider community in Aotearoa.

We warmly welcome Melody to this role and look forward to her continued artistic contributions.
