上善若水The highest goodness resembles water. Dao De Jing
In 2016, a small group of tāngata came together with a mission-to share the beauty and goodness of the divinely inspired Chinese culture with Aotearoa New Zealand. They created the Aotearoa Chine
se Culture Club. China used to be called the “Celestial Empire,” a land where the divine and mortal coexisted. Chinese culture is believed to be “divinely inspired,” and is the only culture in the world to have a continuous recorded history of 5,000 years. Daoism and Buddhism became the bedrock of Chinese civilization. Under the influence of these faiths, a rich and profound system of values was developed. Principles such as "man and nature must be in balance," and the five cardinal virtues: benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, and faithfulness-have constantly played out over China's history. Chinese culture encourages people to seek higher truth and wisdom. Self-Cultivation (修xiu煉lian) has been a way of life for millennia. Whether it is a cup of tea, a piece of music, a drawing or pottery, many facets of life contain spirituality. During daily life, people improve their mind and character and refine their soul, and thus morality is maintained. Naturally, this approach is reflected in their artistic expressions and aesthetics. Chinese culture is a treasure for humanity. Having witnessed the stripping of our culture from its core by a communist regime, and the cultural confusion that has caused, we recognized the significance of preserving our heritage. We believe that our small steps will add up, and our authentic culture will be revived. Since our inception, we have been tirelessly contributing to cultural events, classes, performances, and exhibitions. Collaborating closely with city councils, organizations, and communities, we have earned numerous awards and a strong reputation. We regard the people's love and support as our highest honor, reward, and motivation to continue moving forward. We are working harder than ever to make our home Aotearoa better and happier. Ko au te Awa, ko te Awa ko au. The River Is Me.
