We’re interrupting our normal completely irregular posting schedule to ask for your help...

You’ll probably recognize this chair if you’ve been in our lobby - or if you went to school somewhere in NZ. These things seem to unlock core memories for a surprising number of people.

Now we’re on the hunt for a few more, so if you know of a school that has some of these quietly lurking in a storage room somewhere, let us know...
..but they have to be green.

Ready to shuffle your deck and test your spells?

Join us at Epic HQ for a social Magic: The Gathering game evening filled with strategy, clever plays, and friendly rivalry across the battlefield. Whether you’re brewing something chaotic or piloting a finely tuned deck, there’s a seat waiting for you at the table.

A $5 entry charge applies per participant. If you make a board game purchase during the event, your $5 entry charge will be deducted from your purchase price on the night.

Hot drinks will be on hand to keep your focus sharp and your mana flowing.
Seating isn’t infinite (we’re organised… not planeswalkers), so please register your interest to help us plan. Walk-ins are welcome on the night, but RSVPs get first priority for seating.

GET PREPARED FOR CYCLONE VAIANU!

Plot twist: this one’s not a storm you want to roll the dice with. Cyclone Vaianu is forecast to bring strong winds, heavy rain and large swells to large parts of New Zealand this weekend. This storm has the potential to be a significant and damaging event.

More rain falling on already saturated ground increases the risk of fallen trees, landslides, flooding and dangerous river conditions.

Get ready checklist (seriously, you should do this part):
• Bring loose items inside or secure them (yes, even that trampoline that thinks it’s a kite)
• Clear drains and gutters so water can actually go where it’s supposed to
• Check in on neighbours, especially anyone elderly or isolated
• Prep your emergency kit + grab bag (snacks included = morale boost)
• Keep torches ready and a battery/solar radio for updates
• Make sure your emergency plan is known by everyone in the house

Once you’ve done that, swing by Epic Escape and stock up on board games - because if you’re going to be stuck inside, you might as well win at it!

Tragic, we know.

To avoid this devastating fate, we strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your school holiday fun. Because nothing ruins a great plan quite like showing up… and finding out all the missions are already underway.

Don’t get left outside in the rain while others are saving the world (or escaping the room).
