Front of House Manager Wanted!

Would you like to be part of the excitement of live theatre while supporting Theatre Whakatane?

We are looking for a volunteer Front of House Manager for our upcoming productions, Bonking James Bond and Snip.

This is a fun and rewarding role where you'll welcome audiences, coordinate front of house volunteers, help ensure performances run smoothly, meet new people, and be part of a fantastic theatre team. No previous experience is required, as full training and support will be provided.

Volunteering as a Front of House Manager is a great way to learn new skills, contribute to our theatre community, and enjoy being involved in our productions from a different perspective.

Shout-out to Patrick from SuitsMe Whakatane ✨🙌🏼

Patrick wasn't just a valued member of our Matilda cast — he also put his incredible tailoring skills to work behind the scenes.

Patrick created the iconic checked suit worn by Maurice Reid as Mr Wormwood, as well as the outfit for Sergei, one of his own characters in the show. (Pictured below).

And just like that… Matilda The Musical has taken its final bow. 🎭

To our amazing audiences, supporters, sponsors, volunteers, families, crew, creatives, front of house teams, and every single person who helped bring this production to life — thank you.

The support for this production has been incredible. Seeing the theatre filled night after night and hearing Matilda become the talk of the town is something we'll never forget.

To our cast — thank you for your energy, commitment, courage and heart. From our youngest performers to our most experienced, you brought this story to life in a truly special way and we could not be prouder.

From all of us at Theatre Whakatāne, thank you for being part of the magic.

We’ve unfortunately had quite a few scammers popping up in the comments trying to “sell tickets” to our remaining shows.
Some of these accounts look convincing, but many are fake profiles.

If you’re looking for tickets, please just be careful before sending money to anyone online.
We’ll keep deleting and blocking scam accounts as quickly as we can, but they keep appearing unfortunately.

Thanks everyone — we’d hate to see anyone miss out or lose money.
