🤔 Myth-busters monday: Embroidery Edition 🤔

Its too late to learn a new hobby: ❌️ FALSE ❌️

This is a common misconception but the truth is you can learn a new skill or hobby at any age!

So why start now?

- Zero pressure: You are doing this entirely for your own joy, not for a resume or a career. If you aren't perfect, it truly does not matter
- Brain Health: Learning something completely unfamiliar is like a workout for your mind, keeping your cognitive gears turning.

- Social Connection: It’s a great way to meet fresh faces and connect with people who share your interests.

Come along, meet our fresh faces, learn something new and enjoy!

W.I.P = Work In Progress

Karen Abbot and Aida Baker are slowly but steadily completing their 2025 Stitch Tui class: 'Goldwork fish hook' by Shirley Pygott. Next step...very very carefully cutting out the fish hook to place over the swirls 😬 I'm nervous just thinking about it 👀

🤔 Myth-busters monday: Embroidery Edition 🤔

I only need one needle to do embroidery: ❌️ FALSE ❌️

You may think buying a whole pack of needles is excessive BUT here are some reasons why you need more than just one:

- Multiple projects, it is easier to have a designated needle with each project.

- Needles actually expire! Yes that's right, all that work can make them blunt so its time for a new one!

- There are 7 main types of hand embroidery needles - its not a one size fits all. The main types are - crewel, tapestry, chenille, beading, milliners, sharps and quilting. The correct needle makes all the difference

Not sure which needle is right for your project? Thats ok, we can help you work it out 🪡

Oops Emmeline Henderson has another W.I.P 🫣👀

This week Emmeline started a sashiko cloth, a new technique for her! She is undecided if it will be a cushion or a bag, what would you make?
