A huge thank you and arigato to Good Company Arts and Mark de Clive-Lowe for performing such a masterpiece at Japan Festival Wellington! 🐉🐅

If you’re in Japan, they will be presenting an Asia-Pacific Live Cinematic Experience at Baroom, Minami Aoyama, Tokyo, in October! 🇯🇵

🗓️ SUNDAY 13th OCTOBER 6.00PM
📍Baroom, Minami Aoyama, Tokyo.

Internationally renowned composer-musician, Mark de Clive-Lowe (NZ-JPN) will perform his electronic jazz film scores with taonga pūoro artist Mahina-Ina Kingi-Kaui (Kāti Irakehu, Ngāi Tuahuriri Kāti Huirapa, Te Whanau Pokai. Kāti Māmoe, Kāi Tahu, Ngāti Porou, Te Āti Haunui-a-Pāpārangi).

Film maker, Daniel Belton of Good Company Arts (NZ) will live key projections to activate cinematic dance journeys celebrating the years of the DRAGON and TIGER.

These poetic works feature stunning screen performances by artists of IDIOT SAVANT theater company (Tokyo), together with dance artists from Aotearoa New Zealand.

KINTSUGI WORKSHOP THIS OCTOBER // Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art form where you fix broken pottery with gold - making its imperfections beauty.

If you’ve ever wanted to try Kintsugi, Ema Frost will be holding a Kintsugi workshop on Sat 5th and Sun 6th Oct in Wellington at Toi Poneke and Whirinaki Whare Taonga.

Japan Week, our extended celebration of everything Japanese in Wellington, continues throughout the city until this Sunday! 🇯🇵

Offerings range from little Japanese designers featured at your nearest boutique to a specially crafted Japanese-inspired dish at your favourite eatery or beauty treatments with skincare products from Nippon. 🍱🎏🧴

Dive into The Bento Bar NZ’s exclusive delights right in the heart of the CBD for Japan Week. They have set up shop at 275 Cuba Street and are open 11am-2pm weekdays until 27 September with offerings which include a rotating menu of flavour-packed onigiri, and umami loaded chunky miso soup.🍙🍜
