With Lime

With Lime At With Lime, our vision is to use arts for personal and global transformation. We collaborate with Willie and Miki have been building altars since 1990.

ABOUT THE DIRECTORS
The directors of With Lime are Dr Miki Seifert and Dr William Franco. They are Butoh dancers, choreographers, experimental filmmakers and installation artists. Their work has been in galleries, museums and film festivals around the world. ABOUT DIA DE MUERTOS FESTIVAL
This year With Lime is inviting Wellingtonians to come and participate in the first outdoor Wellington Dia de M

uertos/Day of the Dead Festival. As creators of performances, installations and projections that explore the interface between art and the world Willie and Miki want to provide Wellingtonians with the opportunity to discover this Mexican festival that is about honouring and celebrating the lives of people who have moved onto the other side, remembering all the good times. Willie is descended from the Zapotec and Mixtec of Southern Mexico. In 2007 they presented the first Dia de Muertos in Wellington at Roar Gallery. They gave lectures on Dia de Muertos and ran a workshop for New Zealand artists to create work that reflected the Dia de Muertos sensibility. In 2013 as part of the ‘Aztecs: Conquest and Glory’ at Te Papa Museum, they ran sugar skull workshops and built a public altar.
