We are looking forward to seeing you all at our Poetry event THIS FRIDAY!

In honour of National Poetry Day, we will be hosting a live spoken poetry evening in our gallery space!

We have a wonderful line-up of Pōneke-based, Māori poets who will share their kōrero and whakāro on indigenisation in Aotearoa and uplifting and supporting Te Tiriti.

Nau mai, haere mai for an evening of thoughtful kōrero surrounded by toi Māori ātaahua - plus bubbles and nibbles will be provided!

We are excited to welcome a NEW ARTIST - Linda Thornton to the gallery ✨❗

Linda lives in the Wairarapa, New Zealand, where she works from her home studio. She hand-builds all of her ceramic pieces, a process she says best supports her sculptural practice.

Much of Linda’s work draws on the Japanese technique of nerikomi, in which layers of coloured clay are built up to create intricate patterns and depth. Because the colour is embedded within the clay itself, each finished piece has its own distinctive character.

After years of exploring clay, Linda developed a style that is clear, clean, quiet,
and meditative. Her sculptural busts reflect this balance through strong, refined
forms, deep velvet-black clay, and the subtle complexity of nerikomi surfaces.
