The newest member of the Kura Pōneke team: Wini! (By Jenny Kenny 🙌)

A full-body sized, double-sided sculpture of Jenny's iconic 'patu people', created for Pūanga/Mātariki. This piece is a wonderful symbol for entering the colder season where we will be celebrating and acknowledging Matariki in Aotearoa ⭐

I’m sure by now most of us (in Pōneke) have seen the ‘Earth Mothers’ by Darcy Nicholas’ artwork in the Spirit Room of Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui / Central Library. The artwork is based on the creation story of his people and a tribute towards wāhine and whaea. We sell three of his posters here at Kura. ‘Daughter of the Morning Sun’, ‘Warrior of the Sun’ and ‘Hinerangi’ (not pictured) so you can have your own slice of creation in your corner of Te Ao.
