Pretty special last week for Java to be performing in 2 places at once during Matariki 🌿🥰🤩

Ngā mihi maioha to Bondi Festival for hosting Back of the Bus and ngā mihi maioha to Gadigal locals Vourneen Canning🤸‍♀️and Philippe Wittwer 🪗 for joining us

Join street dancers Daniel Nodder and Nay Nay in the second of three unique shows in An Honest Conversation this weekend. These dance duos will talk, dance and attempt to be as honest in completely improvised one-hour duets.

They will attempt to be as honest as they possibly can right in front of your eyes. An Honest Conversation has the intimacy of a private conversation between friends, the energy of dance and the unpredictability of honesty. An Honest Conversation creates a space for the conversations you can never have.

For the first time ever, the show will be performed by 2 dancers with street dance backgrounds. Nay Nay is a total boss lady. Daniel is like quicksilver. What are they like together? We will find out this Sunday 12 July.

We are so lucky to have Nay Nay Sharp💃🏽 (also known as Renee 😌) performing "An Honest Conversation“ 💐

Nay is 36 years young and whakapapa’s to Ngāti Ranginui!

“For over 15 years, I have had the honour of learning, performing, and competing as a street dancer in both the choreography space and the battle freestyle scene.

Street dance has allowed me to travel the world, be immersed in a community, and serve others through its artform.

Nowadays I am often on the organising or presenting side of dance events, so I am so excited (and always nervous) to step into a performance space.”

AN HONEST CONVERSATION is back at circa theatre! 🎭

Improvised dance while attempting to be as honest as possible, Nay Nay and Daniel create beautiful movement and interesting conversations for us to witness.

The risk level is high! They have no idea what will be said. IT IS ALL IMPROVISED 😱

If you enjoy eavesdropping conversations from people sitting next to you. This is even more exciting because they are in front of you!
