Our next auditions will be held on the 7th - 8th November for The Anniversary! 🥂

The play is by Bill MacIlwraith, directed by Allan Burne and will run from the 3rd - 13th February. Rehearsals start in November with a break over the Christmas period.

Set in South London in the late 1960s, The Anniversary is a dark comedy centred on a dysfunctional family gathering. Now Dad’s gone, Mum uses her wedding anniversary to control and manipulate her three sons. But this year is different. Her sons each have something to reveal that will change the family dynamic forever.

The play offers three strong female roles and has attracted actors such as Bette Davis and Sheila Hancock to the stage and screen versions. Actors will balance tension and comedy while steering their characters through their personal arcs. South London accents are required from all cast.

You can find more information about the play, including the audition form, at https://www.stagecraft.co.nz/auditions.

And that’s a wrap on Social Climbers! 🥾🏔️🥂

Thank you so much to every who put in so much work on stage, off stage and those who came to watch!

We loved sharing this story with you and special shout out to Trudy on her directorial debut! We think she achieved everything she set out to and more 💛

“The real magic tonight was in the chemistry between the performers, their relationships feel genuinely lived-in and effortlessly natural. There is a sense of trust and care between them, suggesting a great deal of work had gone into building those connections far beyond just rehearsing. This production showcases six solid thoughtful, performances from the actors. Who show us that woman can be strong, vulnerable, funny, angry, ridiculous and capable all in one weekend.” - Lottie Butcher, Broadway World
