If flood-affected people in the South Coast need help salvaging precious framed art or photos there is some excellent advice here https://natlib.govt.nz/collections/caring-for-your-collections/disaster-recovery/respond-to-a-disaster/what-to-do-after-a-flood If you are not in a position to do this yourself get in touch with me and I might be able to help. It's really important to act quickly before mould sets in. I can remove works from frames and dry them for you. I am not a Conservator so can't guarantee success but do have some Museum training so can be sensitive to the materials. Please share with anyone who might find this useful, I hardly use social media for my business so this probably won't get seen by many. Keen to help those who are struggling. Steps you can take to dry water-damaged precious personal and collection items. Water and mould can all badly damage collection materials. While a damaged item may never look new again, it is possible to preserve what remains if you act quickly.
