I said I’d watch edgerunners after I’ve played cyberpunk. I’ve played main cyberpunk but not watched edgerunners. I hear the dlc is very worth playing though, so maybe after dlc lolll

Firework Child (烟火孩子)
2026
Came up with the character while walking with the dragon dancers in Wellington during last Chinese New Year; the fireworks were spectacular and I thought of a young pyromaniac/ironman type character chasing a dragon in the sky while riding a fish rocket. The imagery is very much influenced by the 年年有余 posters of babies on massive koi fish.

They’d live in sort of a fantasy ancient Chinese village and fall in love with a city girl or something. Maybe I’d get to develop their storyline.

I’m glad the exhibition was a chance to make this piece. Real hard work in some real hard times to both run the show and finish the art and move house(!), but I’m pretty happy I managed somehow.
🙌 happy birthday to me🙌

Krabby (Singapore Regional Variant)
“This Fire/Grass Pokemon is a delicacy that packs a punch, so spicy that it will burn right through the mouth if eaten. Locals find the unique umami of its chilli-filled body highly addictive.”

Little painting I put together for the Reimagine ‘Em All exhibition. I had quite a few idea but then went ‘hehe what if, chilli crab’

Sharing a bit of my journey designing the WAFF Student Awards 2026 trophy. I was responsible for its initial concept design following the art direction of .creative.
At the essence, we needed an object that represented the cross-cultural collaboration between New Zealand and France, involving the CAFE logo of the frog and pencil, with iconic native NZ plants and florals, and everything was able to mesh quite seamlessly through the Art Deco style, which is also very important to NZ’s street architecture.

The actual making of the trophy was the hard work of , doing hand-sculpting and casting at ‘s studio. A big group effort!! Thank you also .co.nz for doing a phenomenal job with the behind the scenes video, despite me being so nervous and so ill during filming day…

Kind of surreal I got involved in this opportunity, but incredibly grateful. Hope everyone enjoys the WAFF Student Awards this afternoon/evening!

Mixed Media Sculpture

Finally posting my piece for properly; Pillory is a sort of personal piece about heritage and identity. I was thinking about a Chinese take on death and afterlife as well as motif from the Hungry Ghost Festival in Singapore/Malaysia: big lights, big glittery neon banners and colourful sculptures of beasts. What came out of my head was something that I felt represents being caught awkwardly but fabulously in a culture defined by gender binary. And then I had to make it, and it was fun tumbling my way to the finish line. Got angry over bad air dry clay brands, painted layers of gesso and acrylic paint, listened to a ton of podcasts, vacuumed red dust and foil and glitter from my carpet, having to chop 0.5cm of the board on one side one day before artwork hand in…it was nice to go full tactile after so long.

Thanks again Skullduggery for having me! Hope people get to catch the exhibit before it ends on Sunday!
