Inverted Citizens was founded in 2018 by circus artists Jackson Cordery, Laura Oakley, and Sophia O'Connor in Wellington, New Zealand. Our work strives to elevate circus as an artform in New Zealand, combining a theatrical approach with the sense of fun and accessibility inherent to traditional circus. Our vision is of a thriving circus sector in New Zealand that embraces our unique place in the w

orld. We have presented our work at festivals and venues around Aotearoa and overseas to rave reviews, and have won multiple awards for our performances. Our winning formula for high quality work is underpinned by three key ingredients; audience experience, our kiwi identity and the accessibility of our work. We've performed in theatres, on the street and in school courtyards. We love the versatility of circus as an artform and we can't wait to bring our work to communities all over the country.

Another year of REVEL has flown by! Three nights of a disco fuelled cabaret extravaganza wasn't enough! 🎉💅

Thanks for joining us at Club REVEL, we were blown away by the audience reception.

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible hard work of our cast, crew and band. You left it all on the dance floor. 🪩 Thank you for being part of our vision.

Big thank you to our team of creatives and choreographers who really made our show shine.
