BATS is a venue hosting an annual curated programme of theatre, dance, music and comedy from New Zealand's most exciting emerging artists. We are a supportive, professional and accessible theatre venue that fosters the development of practitioners, audiences and New Zealand performance work. Spooky szn is upon us & with that, NZ Improv Festival too 👀

With a delicious, tempting line-up of improv shows, why not utilise that NZIF Show Pass & treat yourself 😉 you know you want to!

The halls of BATS have recently been hijacked by the next generation of improv performers so nab your ticket to the Youth Showcase to see them in action - it's been a treat to see them in & out of BATS this week.

We also welcome Form Theatre to our whare with their show: The King's Gambit 🫶🏽 & the Sublet are back to grace our theatre's this month too (don't miss out on these, fam).

There's so much happening at BATS this month that we had to split our usual announcement into 2 parts so check back soon for that 🦇🦇

Are we seeing you through our doors this October?

Kia ora BATS whānau!

I wish to advise that Tania has resigned from her role as General Manager of BATS.

Tania has led BATS during a period of significant change for the organisation and challenging conditions across the wider arts sector. The Board acknowledges the work undertaken during her tenure, thanks Tania for her contribution and service to BATS, and wishes her well for the future as she moves on to pursue her passion projects.

If you have any BATS business that you wish to discuss during this transition period, please feel free to contact me or the rest of the BATS team are available through the usual contact channels.
