With the weekend just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than dancing beneath the lights...

Inspired by the 80s’ puzzle phenomenon Rubik’s Cube, the 80 cube takes you on trip back in time with its marrying of 80’s music and mesmerising light rhythms.

Backed by an electronica soundtrack featuring the likes of New Order and the Human League, the 80 cube invites you to sit, stand, dance or lay beneath it as it sucks you back in time.

Originally designed by Toulouse Group and exhibited at the TSB Festival of Lights, Pukekura Park, New Plymouth. HUGE thanks to them for presenting this work in LUX 2018.

WE'VE BEEN SHUT DOWN BY THE WIND... AGAIN - Wellington you have done it again - unfortunately we are unable to safely operate the festival tonight due to the gale force winds. (Tuesday 22nd of May from 2:30pm)

We are currently experiencing gusts over 100km/h on the waterfront and the forecast is for this to rise early evening.

💨 FUN LUX WIND FACT 💨

All LUX installations are rated for winds of up to 120km/h. We make these difficult calls not to operate to ensure we are not encouraging people to be in exposed places in these conditions this is purely for the safety of the public and our staff and volunteers.
