The patterns and textures of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Visiting Locharron last year was a mind-blowing experience. Based in Selkirk, they are a world leading manufacturer of Tartan and a visit to their textile mill, encouraged by my tutors at Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy offered an in depth understanding of the structure and strength of the fabric.

In seeing not only the Tartan’s weaving processes and machinery, but visiting Scottish mills further north to explore raw wool processing and dying, I was lucky to get such a well rounded experience of crucial steps in production that occur before pleating up the kilt even occurs 😍

What a show this was! 🎟

THIRTY-SIX was a glowing success with over 87% of tickets sold and rave reviews across Wellington.

This is the first production I've worked on since returning permanently to my hometown.

Another production begins! 🎭

I'm thrilled to work with the team at Circa Theatre once again, this time as costume designer and set builder for the upcoming show, JULIA, presented by BRAVE Theatre

JULIA is a powerful one-woman play about former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, placing you inside the moment her words reverberated around the globe - the now-famous “misogyny speech."

But this is more than one speech. It’s the story of a woman navigating power, pressure, and public life, and what it takes to stand your ground.

Sharp, human, and deeply relevant. This is theatre that stays with you.

High glamour, high contrast, high voltage ⚡️

Straw-ry Eyed and Mechanical Revolution are the perfect garments to launch the 2026 WOW Show: GLO!, where you can expect to see fire and flame, art off the wall, and the completely bizarre across six electric worlds.

Designed to be shook, shimmied and danced in, Straw-ry Eyed invites you to shake out stress and self-criticism, and have fun. Representing creative persistence, the 2025 Neon Section Runner Up boasts a sculptural and striking silhouette created from over 5,000 individually painted, resin cured, hand stitched and beaded paper straws.

In visual contrast, but matching in scale of detail, Luo Fan’s Mechanical Revolution is crafted from more than 1,000 construction pieces and over 3,000 screws and nuts. A nod to this year’s Metallic section, Mechanical Revolution – which placed third in the 2015 Architecture Section - was inspired by the artist’s favourite heavy metal music and post-modern architecture.
